@LindsayLou: definitely try different carries! They can make a huge difference. My next wrapping goal is to get backcarries down.

@bluestriped bee: Wrapping is just so versatile and comfy! I think I need to just keep trying and hope that my kiddo starts liking it more. Or try done different carries. Right now she's good for about 2 minutes, then she starts fussing.

@LindsayLou: I tried it out a few times already. I tried it again last night after using my fly tai the last week or so and I fell in love with it again. The length was a bit overwhelming before but last night it was so second nature.

@bluestriped bee: I did! I ended up with a used dolcino. I found it for super cheap, it's soft and pretty, so I figured it was a good starting point. My kiddo, sadly, isn't much of a fan so far. Which is bizarre, because she's happily spend her entire day in our ring sling, mei tai, moby, or tula if I let her. I need to try again. Have your tried out your tekhni yet?

@LindsayLou: Did you end up buying anything?

My first woven was a Tekhni Delta. It's so soft and needs very little breaking in. I bought one new and washed it once and it's ready to go. I just want to sleep with it since it's so soft.

@jetsa: possible but the carries are slightly different. How long are the tails in your favorite carries right now?

@pastemoo: @MrsTal: @Pumuckl: hey ladies. I had a size 5 didy indio with my son and we loved fwcc until close to a year. I sold my Indio because I thought my daughter would love ring slings...she doesn't. Someone on my local swap has a great deal on a size 4 Pavo folklore do you think I'll be content with that size or should I be looking for a 5?

@LindsayLou: I second a size 5 girasol, either twill (warmer) or diamondweave (thinner, usually) as a great starting wrap.

@LindsayLou: Girasol was my starter wrap and it was good, not too heavy and easy to work with, plus there weren't a ton of options as far as blends, that stuff gets overwhelming quick. I now love Tekhni's as they have ones made with repreve (a recycled plastic, sounds weird but it's wonderful) that are sooo breathable but they are a little pricey.

@Pumuckl: Thank you for the advice! The girasols are gorgeous. Checking out a baby wearing netting is definitely a great idea, I'm sure it would help to see and feel some of the different options.

You'll love a woven wrap. Sizing is a little dependent on how you want to carry your LO. With your small frame a size 5 should give you lots of options. http://www.didymos.de/en/DIDYMagazine/Baby-Carriers/Sizes/

I have a didymos woven that has a low grams per sqm measure which means it isn't as think and thus cooler (but it is also less supportive for a heavier child) and love it but I haven't tried anything else. Maybe you can check out your local babywearing meeting (babywearing international chapter etc) so you can see different ones.

Love these sites for tutorials http://www.wrapyouinlove.com/tutorials-on-youtube/ and http://wrapyourbaby.com

I'm considering a woven wrap, but am so overwhelmed by the choices. Any recommendations on brands? What's a versatile starting size for someone who's petite (I'm only 5'1)? What blends tend to be cooler? My kiddo is a little heater.

I'm looking for something that isn't crazy expensive to start with. My daughter is 8 weeks now, and loves to be worn, so I expect and hope to continue baby wearing for quite some time.
