@hilsy85: It's insane, isn't it? Now I get what all the "that will change" comments were about from my family when I used to tell them she STTN.

@highwire: More opinionated, lol. That's a really good way of saying it.

@scg00387: I hope you're spared it too : )

@MsLipGloss: Ha ha, isn't it amazing how quickly they go from helpless little babies in our arms to beating us up? : )

@NovBaby1112: Lol, yes I think yours and my babies are like twins at the moment. When are you starting sleep training?

@sorrycharlie: Eight months? Oh no! Hope it gets easier for you soon!

@mrsjyw: Aw I'm glad A's sleep is still good. What's he like with a bottle? Does he still do the hair pulling, etc? Or is that just for nursing?

@wheres_c: Nooo! Hopefully it won't last long!

@Tidybee: We're starting to see a bit of clinginess too. I sometimes put her on her mat and tell her I'll be going into the kitchen to grab some water (only for 30 seconds and she's totally safe) and she'll start kicking her legs and complaining as soon as I'm out of sight. She's got a new cry I've never heard before and it's definitely more of a whining issue.

@cascademom: "a bear to nurse" ha ha, that made me laugh. I tried nursing her while we were out today and I'm sure people were laughing at me, she was just arching her back and looking around her and giggling at everyone and just totally acting like "er, mum, why are you sticking that nipple in my face??". ha ha.

@PurpleUnicorn: Oh gosh, that was just like us tonight! I started the side nursing too and at first it was awesome but now she finds it funny. Tonight was just like you described, but she'd roll away then tilt her head back and grin up at me. So in the end I put her in her crib because I wanted to show her it's bed time, not play time. I did the whole 'night night, we love you, sweet dreams' thing and left the room and she cried, but not a real cry. So I went back in and said it again and she was grinning and giggling again until I left. I did this three times by which time she was crying and I didn't have the heart to do it again so I picked her up and that time she nursed good as gold, but then I felt bad because I'd obviously upset her. Ahhh I don't know what the answer is but I don't think I have the heart for sleep training unless it starts to really affect her during the day, and it isn't at the moment.

@SLR: Hope the sleep gets back to normal for you soon, I miss sleep sooo much!

@Kemma: Oooh that's good about day sleep. I need to tackle that too, girl just won't go down in that crib and nice as it is to snuggle her three times a day while she sleeps, I'm getting nothing done at all.

Yep we hit the six month regression but thankfully we didn't have too much trouble nursing! For us it was a developmental perfect storm of a wonder week, learning to sit and crawl and cutting six teeth in six weeks - it's been a rough couple of months! I should also mention that we transitioned down to two naps while all this was going on...

Whilst our night sleep is still a bit iffy our day sleep is lovely (touch wood!)

Yep, we're here with the sleeping thing too. Nursing hasn't been a problem yet though (knocks on wood).

i feel ya. feeding L in side lying position really means L lays on the bed, i prop myself beside him and attempt to feed, he rolls over, i roll him back try again. repeat. repeat. repeat. He eats a bit. then gets distracted by my face, my hair, the wall behind me, his feet, his shirt you name it. and his sleep. well, yes i know what you mean, i feel like my sleep quality and quantity reminds me of newborn days. i don't believe in sleep training so i just keep trying to fill him up before bed! tonight i think i am attempting the dreamfeed.

We sleep trained at this time too. I believe it's when babies become fully aware of their surroundings, things start to make sense to them, mom and dad make sense to them. My LO was awful at 6 months. Sleep training helped a lot. From 6-8 months, he was a bear to nurse. He would roll off of my pillow, bite, pinch, etc. By 8 months old, we decided to wean because I wasn't producing enough for him and he became a tough nurser.

We are in the throws of this too. DD is so super clingy. This morning, she would not let me put her down At.All. Not to sit, not to bounce, not to swing, nothing. At night, we let her cry and the minute we open the door to let her know we're there, she conks back out completely. However, she repeats this every 45 min - 1 hour.
She's almost 7 months...
Hopefully she goes back to normal soon...although this is quickly becoming the new normal.

awww mama HUGGGS!

A is definitely a feisty one during our nursing sessions now. He pulls, twists, pops off/on, smashes his face into my boob, pulls my hair, etc... !

We thankfully haven't had a struggle in the sleep dept.

My LO has never been a good sleeper, but yeah, at 6 months with the beyond-baby physical strength, the distracted-ness, the using my hair for a trapeze, flicking my nipples (say whaaaa?), and trying to *nom* me.

Yup. This is when we sleep trained ( at 6.5 months). There's a regression and a growth spurt...it's just bad.

It's like she's become She-Ra Princess of Power, kicking and punching during nursing (not nastily, just because she's tired and strong), pulling my hair out with her toes etc, twisting my nipple with her mouth in a way I can't even bear to describe.

And her sleep? OMG. My sweet girl who slept through the night won't entertain her crib at all and wakes up every hour. It's worse than having a newborn.

And she's awake again so I have to go start over with bedtime.

How long does this last????
