I bought a Wubbanub (the dog) this weekend and it has been such a lifesaver! I got it after a horrendous car ride where she screamed for most of the way and I couldn't pull over on the highway...ugh. Makes car rides better and also showers are more peaceful, but it isn't perfect. Will be great when she can keep it in herself!

@pinkb: OMG - I totally thought of doing that today, but wasn't sure if it was okay or like a negligent mommy thing! lol! Thankfully she was okay once it fell out.

@shopaholic: I think they are all really light! We have the giraffe and it is light. At first I thought it was a waste of money cause it didnt seem to help but now that LO is a bit older and bigger I love it! not sure it would work with the other animals but with the one we have I can tuck the giraffes legs in the straps of the car seat and it says right in place.

@smirfette-we have the elephant and it stays in unless she flops around like crazy. She spits regular pacis out so fast with her forceful suck-they projectile fly out of her mouth .

@rattles: Great idea!

@sorrycharlie: That's what I would think too! They are just like the regular soothies, but just one size? I assumed you could have just changed them out and the animal was just a holder.

@Smurfette: They are just like the regular Avent soothies. I read they were kind of heavier so they could stay in the mouth more. I tested it on K today during our drive and it didn't stay in her mouth! lol! But we have the lamb, and it seems really light!

Do these really work? LO doesn't love her pacifier but when she does take it, she can't keep it in her mouth. I really want her to take one cause I know it would comfort her.

I rinse the animal under the sink (hot water) but the instructions say you can machine wash in a lingerie bag. honestly, DH's work clothes are so dirty that I don't like to wash it in the washer cause I feel like all the dirt doesn't come out of the washer after his work load anyway.

@Mrs Green Grass: if they came apart (stuffed animal from soothie), wouldn't it be the same hazard as giving the baby a regular soothie?

Like @rattles, we wash them in a mesh lingerie bag when we do the laundry. That's a good trick about boiling them with the animal part on the handle! I hadn't thought of that.

I machine wash. They have to be "one piece" or else it would be a choking hazard.

I wash the stuffed animal in the washing machine in a lingerie bag and boil the soothie with the animal resting on the pot's handle. LO loves hers, so we have two and they get cleaned often. They've held up well!

I was only the soothie mostly, but I have thrown the whole thing in the washer using cold water and let it air dry. It didn't take too long for it to air dry.

We would dunk the paci part in hot water. LO used this when he was really young, so the stuffed animal didn't get that dirty.

What if you set it outside in the sun (when it warms up)? I've wondered the same thing, though.

Eta: in the sun after machine washing. My brain. Ugh.

This might be a totally stupid question but for those of you that own the Wubbanub pacifier things are they not separable? You can't wash the stuffed animal and the soothie separately? Seems strange to me. We got one as a gift and I took it out of the package. It says to just wash the soothie part in warm water but seems like the stuffed animal part woul get wet a bit and then you have to let it dry or you're giving baby basically a damp rag?
