Thanks everyone! I didn't see these responses until just now, so sorry for the delay in responding.

This weekend, I tried pumping just four times each day and the difference was amazing! We just added another meal for them, so now they're eating breakfast and dinner and our ped said that they're okay to drop a feeding, which makes a world of difference. So, at this rate, I think I can stick it out a bit longer and just take it week by week.

I'm not a EPer but I think if I were totally miserable I would quit. If I were ok or "meh" with it I would probably keep going. And just reevaluate if it was totally over it. Don't feel selfish though its hard work!

I was an EP momma for nearly 8 months. I stopped because I wanted more time with my little man and I haven't looked back. It is nice to come home and play with him. You have done great so far! If you choose to go farther more power to you!!

I bf and pump so I don't feel qualified to answer but I had to chime in and say way to go mama!! You're amazing that you stuck with it this long and that you're able to provide enough for them! Since you've made it this far, you should just take it month by month and then week by week! You have nothing to beat yourself up about either way because you've done great. I will say that saving the money would be motivation for me! Think of it as paying yourself maybe??

What if you dropped a few pumps? Maybe just pump when it's convenient? I did this for a few weeks during my breastfeeding journey and it took a ton of pressure off. We just filled in the gaps with formula and LO got some breastmilk. It worked well for us!

If you decide to transition to formula, don't feel guilty! They've gotten tons of benefits from the breastmilk you've provided and to have accomplished what you have is truly impressive!

I quit around 3 months because I was only getting 7 oz a day and it wasn't worth it.

Making enough for your twins is amazing!!

There is a blog that I read and she was an EPer and quit at 8 months even though she had no supply issues. Maybe it might interest you to read her posts about it?

So I've been blessed to be able to EP more than enough breastmilk to feed my twin boys. They just turned six months and after almost three months back at work, my supply is still going strong. They take 60 ounces throughout the day between the two of them and I still have managed to freeze more than 650 ounces of breastmilk. So all is good.

But ... I still dream of the day that I'll be done for good. 6 months was my initial goal going into this, so I've reached it amazingly. I currently pump 5 times a day, which probably equals 2.5 hours of time each day. I also have some business trips coming up that will make pumping difficult logistically (but still doable). The problem is, I'm having a hard time justifying quitting when I am having no issues producing enough. I know that I'll definitely not go past 1 year, but I feel selfish if I quit before then since I can still pump. On top of that, it's helping us save money by not having to buy formula for two! I guess I'll just keep taking it day by day and see where things go. Maybe reevaluate at 9 months??

EP'ers, when did you decide to call it quits?
