I would try nursing on one side and pumping the other. You can always switch back to formula if it's not working out how you'd like, but your plan sounds good to me!

My goal all along was to hit 6 mos (I had a frustrating finale with my first daughter - so I was determined this time around)...and I made it.

So now - I'm hoping to get to a point where I just nurse before bed and first thing in the morning...so I think I'll take the plunge. I'm super sick right now and need the sleep - so I am hoping she takes it easy on mommy.

I would try nursing for a little while and see how that goes. Maybe it'll work great, and if it doesn't, you can switch course.

I would nurse her before bed instead of the formula and then cut the MOTN pumping session!

So...DD is 6 mos (boohoo - stop growing)...

Since I went back to work I have been supplementing with a bottle of formula 1) so she would sleep through the night and 2) so I could keep up. I pump in the AM, twice at work, before bed and MOTN. I get about 12 oz a day exactly.

She recently started cereal and kills it. Seriously. Kid is a champ. She eats it now twice a day at lunch time and then again at dinner (around 6:30pm). For dinner she have 6T cereal mixed with 3oz formula or BM. I have been noticing since the cereal she is drinking less of her bottle and still doing pretty good over night. So I have been thinking about going back to nursing before bed (we put her in the swing at 7pm, then around 10pm I take her upstairs to the crib feed her and put her down for the night).

The last two nights she has only been taking 2-3oz formula from the bottle. But I am thinking nursing she may get more...I usually get 2-3 oz when I pump - since she is more efficient I figure she ma do better. Plus I'd love to supplement a day time feeding (6oz bottle) instead...so I only need to pump one 6oz bottle a day...would be SO much easier/less stressful.

Who's bored this Monday evening and wants to chime in with opinions?

My biggest fear is will she get enough to sleep through the night - I'm thinking the large serving of cereal fills her tummy good and may fill in for a shortfall in supply?
