Personally I find cloth diapering at daycare to be a non-event. Daycare sends home the dirty diapers every day in a zippered wet bag and I just add it to the laundry. Cleaning/prepping bottles on the other hand...

I would do cloth. I prefer cloth to disposables, but I also kept sposies at daycare as backup.

We use disposables at daycare because it's what T wanted. It is nice to just leave a huge amount and not have to worry about it. I snagged sales so I really haven't spent much at all. I like the Sams Club diapers and was able to use size 3's quickly

I'd rather not let their willingness to affect my childcare decision- like, I'd rather pick the best place for us, and then maybe propose it, maybe not. One at home option would bc she did with her children, one at home option I haven't asked yet, and the daycare is a maybe. In AZ the law allows daycare to CD.

We didn't start cloth till 4 ish weeks. You can always ask! Cloth just sounds scary IMHO but if you can show them, it really is not that bad.

I would figure out your childcare situation first. Some places wo t ha duke CD. Obviously if you were looking for a long term solution you might just pick a different childcare solution, but given that you need short term care for an infant, your options might be limited so I would figure that out first.

Sounds like your MIL is willing to help with CD laundry so that's a good sign that you might be able to CD. I understand wanting to use Disposables. Some people are adamant about not using disposables so they try very hard to make it work. If you are okay with a temporary break, that could be fine, too. If it were me, I would be afraid of having a break like this and never going back to cloth. So I would try to make cloth work.

Some providers won't CD so there's that. That might make your decision for you!

Due to the dates of my maternity leave and summer break, I will only need childcare for the 7-8 weeks I return to work. I am currently debating between in-home care and a daycare. Do you think I should keep CDing during that time and asking the childcare providers to be on board (using AIOs); or save myself the time and stress by using disposables? I will be pumping 3 times at work and DH & I will both be working full time, so I will admit I'm tempted by the convince of disposables for just that short time (still hoping to CD on weekends and 4pm-6am). After summer break, my MIL will be caring for LO in our home and has volunteers to help with the CD laundry. Basically, what do you think you would do in my shoes? Cut yourself and your childcare provider some slack with sposies, or save the money?
