You absolutely need to be comfortable with the quality of your car seat. Even if the ones you were given don't expire for another few years, they don't sound like they were well cared for, which can be a huge problem! I'd do a bit of research and explain to your DH tonight why it is so important you have a good quality car seat.</p> <p>P.S. DH and I just had this same discussion re used car seats two days ago. His parents are getting one for when we visit over Christmas and I had to keep firm with both him and MIL on why we would be buying new, rather than used. I would still hold onto the Amazon purchase, but I understand where he's coming from. They still have one in their car for my niece and LO. We read up on the car seat and accepted it from them.
