@photojane: did you ever get your package? A similar situation happened to me except that it was totally my fault, forgot to change the delivery address and by the time I realized it was too late. Fortunately it was our former apartment complex so the front office was able to contact the current lesee but she had taken my package in, opened it and threw away the packing slip and original shipping bag. We know this because only AFTER being contacted by the front office did she put it out front...in a Kroger bag?! :meh: I was pissed! Fortunately the item was in its own unopened package so I still used it, but still. Just, why?! Why wouldn't she take it to the front office knowing it wasn't hers? Ugh, people! I hope you get/got your package!

@photojane: pretty sure there a time limit on forwarding. That stinks. We still get mail for the previous owners, two years later, I always write no longer at address and put back in the mail.

@misolee: I would do something like this, especially if you don't have the contact info for the new owners.

@daniellemybelle: oh gosh. That's a debacle. The craziest thing to me is that I signed up for mail forwarding in July, and I've been getting forwarded mail ever since, and yet USPS still delivered the package there. Why wasn't it forwarded?!

Whenever we receive packages that do not belong to us, we put them back in our mailbox stating we are not the recipient. I have no idea what the postal worker does with it after that.

This exact thing happened with clothes I bought from someone on HB! We were renting at our previous address so I called the property manager who called the new renters. They said they marked it return to sender and it was picked up, but USPS had no record of that. Who knows what really happened. We were never able to find the package. It was shipped Priority, meaning with insurance, so I tried to get a refund from USPS but they said it was shown as delivered and they weren't responsible. I was so mad at myself!

We were also on the receiving end of this once. The people that sold us our house actually found us on FB and let us know that a package had been sent to their old address (where we were living) and we were able to leave it by the mailbox for them.

Maybe call the retailer and ask what can be done? Amazon sent it to my old address once and they were able to just send me a new one (not sure what happened to the original).

I received the previous owners package and I got in touch with her so she could pick it up, but she still lived nearby. I would try to get the new owner to try to return it back to Disney or have them forward it to you.

@Truth Bombs: No! 2 hours away :crying:

@littlecasita1122: Texting my realtor now! I hope we can work out something similar. I don't want to file a claim and all of that nonsense.

Haha I totally did this a week after we moved - I went through Amazon so fast I didn't even check my address. Our realtor contacted our buyer's realtor and they left the package on the front steps so my husband could pick it up.

Did you move close by? I would probably drive over and ask if they have it.

I know this is crazy, but I don't know who to ask/what to do!

So, we moved back in late July, and I obviously forgot to change my address everywhere. I did sign up for mail forwarding with USPS, but didn't even think about changing out my address in my online shopping accounts. I'm a dummy.

Anyway, I ordered a movie for LO for Christmas from the Disney Movie Club a few weeks ago. Today I realized we still hadn't gotten it. Checked, and yep, totally delivered to my old address. It was delivered on September 26th, so my assumption is that the new owners kept it. I know it's a federal offense to open another person's mail, so I'm not sure what I can do here. Is there any way to get it back?! Who should I contact?
