My almost 5 month old still needs to be rocked to sleep for naps/nighttime. The "drowsy but awake" thing has never worked for her. Her naps are still very short- 30 minutes with the occasional, RARE hour long nap. She does pretty well overnight, with only 1 wake up. We have begun swaddle weaning since she has rolled over twice in it, with one arm out for the last 2 weeks. She is starting to put her hand in her face more though and I think this is disrupting her sleep. Laying her down is sometimes difficult because of this happening as I rock her, resulting in many do-overs to get her back to sleep. Her bedtime is also on the late side (at least compared to what I hear for other babies her age), with it being closer to 9:30 most nights.

She never went through a 4 month sleep regression, so I suppose we are lucky in that regard but I am not quite sure what we should be aiming for with sleep habits!

Any ideas? Is it time to do some type of sleep/nap training? Or is this still in the realm of normal?
