My mom found out about 2 minutes after we left the store and she made me return them and apologize to the manager. But does he understand that you have to pay for things and can't just take them? Did he realize he was doing something wrong or did he honestly believe he could just take them off the shelf?</p> <p>A little girl I babysat took a keychain from Old Navy when she was around that age. Her mom called the "manager" and had her daughter apologize over the phone. That's awesome.</p> <p>I would go back with him and pay for the fish. Then I'd ask to see the manager, and have him apologize to the manager for stealing. Because you already paid for the fish, they can't really press charges...</p> <p>Anyway then I'd have him work off the money by doing chores or volunteering in the community or something. So I reach in his pocket and pull out Swedish fish! I asked where he got them and he said target. I told him he couldn't do that - it was stealing and he immediately started to cry . He said take them back mommy take them back!!! He was very upset! </p> <p>What now?<br /> Do I return them alone?<br /> Do I make DS come with me?<br /> Part of me thinks what if the manager is an ass and wants to press charges against my 5 yr old????</p> <p>Ugh!
