We had a Buffalo for our 3 year gap and we lived in a city with no car. I loved that stroller. My 2nd was also born in November, and I actually preferred to have her wrapped up in the stroller bassinet, rather than babywear. We had been using the Buffalo with the seat leading up to my DD's birth, but when she was born I converted it back to the bassinet and DS loved riding the "skateboard" and never complained about not being in the stroller. He also did a ton of scooter riding. Now, for your question about where to buy a new one, I have no idea, I didn't know it had been discontinued! Good luck!

My kids are almost four years apart and we live in a city without a car, so our stroller is a workhorse. I wore the baby for the first six months or so while my older one got used to really long walks. For a couple of months I tired not to use the stroller much so that the older one wouldn't even be tempted. Now at almost four and a half years he's walking everywhere and the baby is finally getting a turn in the stroller, just in time for sweaty summer. All of that to say, wait until the winter to see what you actually need, I'm so glad we didn't jump the gun on a double!

We live in NYC and do a lot of walking and some long walks. DS1 is 3 and DS2 is 1.5 (they are 19 months apart) and the older one has been on the ride along on our cruz since the baby has wanted to be in the seat. DS1 is also a good walker and can walk easily a mile +. DS1 uses a scooter or balance bike for the neighborohood. He hasn't spent time in the stroller in a year really. I had a double but it was never worth the trouble. I would hold out until you want to put the baby in the stroller and then see what you think you need. So much can change in 8 months or more. When it's cold I always felt better wearing a little baby. your first will also be SO much better at the scooter.

@babyboymom he does, and he uses it in our neighborhood, interchangeable with walking. for really long walks on very busy streets with heavy traffic (1-2 miles), which we do at least 4-5x a week, he's not going to scoot.

Does you lo have a scooter? By age 3 mine were almost exclusively using the scooter. Then in the case they really wanted to sit I would let them sit in the stroller and baby wear the baby.

@lioneyes: Gotcha. Have you called ANB baby in Brooklyn? They tend to stock some older stuff and are incredible helpful tracking stuff down.
I ended up with a city select lux. It’s not perfect but it’s great when there is a larger age gap. It actually has a bench seat for my older one to ride on, or the toddler seat can just be popped right on top of the bench if I only have the baby. Or two seats of course. Or a rider board. But it’s big. And it is a bear to push with both kids but I can get it done.

@Littlebit7: He might still want to sit through the winter, in which case I would babywear and let him use the stroller if I have both kids at the same time (I envision him wanting to sit for a longer walk like to gym class where I will only have him). But if that's the case, we still need something that has a higher weight limit.

I bought an older model Britax stroller from these people, no problems at all! They have a storefront in NYC in addition to the website. Do they have the one you are looking for?

Hmmm that’s tough. I feel like you have protection as a buyer through eBay if you get sent a piece of junk...but still.
I’m a member of a few stroller groups and while I’ve seen some great condition used buffis, never a NIB one
Are you wed to the buffalo? Will your older kiddo only use the board? Will he even fit in the buffi seat by the time the baby comes?
I almost bought a buffi when I had mysecond but found that my now 3 year old wants a seat a lot more than I thought. I live in a city also and walk everywhere.

Baby #2 is due in Nov. DS will have just turned 4. We live in a city and walk everywhere and so at 3.5, still use our Bugaboo Cameleon daily for longer walks. He is getting close to the weight limit, and will be using the ride on board when the baby comes, so I am considering upgrading to a Bugaboo Buffalo both because of its higher weight limit and its larger tires and basket (this model was discontinued 2018- many reasons I like it more than the Fox, its replacement.)
SO- a few questions:
-Would you ever buy a NIB one from Ebay (seller is in US)? Since it's been replaced by a different model,Buy Buy Baby etc. doesn't carry it.
-If not, any suggestions on where to find a NIB one at a good price?
