So far at 25 weeks I haven't mentioned anything and I'm not sure that I will until I'm posting pics of the baby after she's born. I have seen both extremes-- the right-after-peeing-on-the-stick types and the wait-until-baby-is-here types. I have all kinds of acquaintances as facebook friends, so I didn't feel like announcing in such a public forum until we were really sure that the baby was healthy -- and I was starting to show anyways. 'Cause I'm mean like that. Otherwise, I'm not certain. Definitely not before we hear a heartbeat, though.</p> <p>Most recent one was first trimester. Found out about another friend at 10 weeks, but she's not making it public at least until she's showing. Didn't find out about the most recent cousin until she was 5 months along. I don't hear about most cousins' kids until they are born. I posted on Facebook when we knew the gender. That was 18 weeks. It just made sense to wait for us un we actually got to see the baby before everyone we had ever known on FB knew. First, I was still paranoid after 12 weeks (since I'd had a prior miscarriage). Second, since it took a little while for us to conceive, I was really sensitive to FB announcements and almost didn't put anything up at all. It makes sense since we went to SO many weddings about 2 years ago. But something I've noticed is that people are announcing REALLY late-- they usually already know the gender, so they've got to be at least 18 weeks in, which seems pretty late to be announcing, to me. One couple just announced last week and they are due in June! I remember announcing just before I hit the 3 month mark. </p> <p>Anyone else noticing lots of mid second trimester announcements? </p>
