Yeah. I announced at 20 weeks (but didn't know the gender yet). My husband announced at 14 weeks (when we had told all our family).
My facebook friends have announced anywhere between 3 weeks and "we know the gender"-weeks.

I haven't announced on FB, my blog or anywhere publicly. I probably won't until after our next scan at 20 weeks. I've had a loss and want to be extra sure that this is going to be ok. Plus, our family and closest friends already know.

I've noticed my younger friends post earlier and my friends closer to my age and older post a lot later.

I'm really put off by oversharing and so I tend to go in the way opposite extreme. So far at 25 weeks I haven't mentioned anything and I'm not sure that I will until I'm posting pics of the baby after she's born. I have seen both extremes-- the right-after-peeing-on-the-stick types and the wait-until-baby-is-here types. But the early share is definitely way more common in my experience.

I didn't put anything on facebook until after around 21 weeks when we knew the gender (and had already told all of our closest friends in person or via email). I have all kinds of acquaintances as facebook friends, so I didn't feel like announcing in such a public forum until we were really sure that the baby was healthy -- and I was starting to show anyways. Most of my facebook friends have also waited until around 20 weeks to post anything, although I've definitely had some friends announce earlier.

If I'm pregnant this cycle and if I'm able to hear the heartbeat in week 8, I'm gonna post my BFP on Facebook on April 1st (almost 9 weeks.) 'Cause I'm mean like that. Otherwise, I'm not certain. Definitely not before we hear a heartbeat, though.

Most recent one was first trimester. Found out about another friend at 10 weeks, but she's not making it public at least until she's showing. Didn't find out about the most recent cousin until she was 5 months along. I don't hear about most cousins' kids until they are born. So... no pattern with the people in my life.

I don't plan on posting my pregnancy on FB until around 19 or 20 weeks (after I find out the gender). All of my family and close friends already know anyway. I guess deep down inside I'm still worried, since I've had 2 miscarriages in the past. The FB announcement is just to let acquaintances know so I don't think it's that big of a deal since my closest friends already know.

i'm 32 weeks and i still haven't announced. i guess on facebook. everyone else, they just SEE that i'm pregnant. lol. i did announce to friends a bit later than usual. some actually found out when they were invited to my shower. for me, it was just because i had already suffered a miscarriage so i was just being cautious. the first time, i think we announced to most people by 8-12 weeks.

I really hope it is the year of the baby. We are so ready to start our family! On my Facebook I haven't seen any late announcements. A lot of people announce at 12 weeks and several announce as soon as the stick dries.

I didn't post anything on FB until 20 weeks, after we found out the gender. I told all my friends and family way before that, so the only people that were really finding out that way were people I'm only in touch with via FB. I wanted to make sure everything looked ok with baby first, and I'm more private about what I post on FB anyway, so I didn't feel the need to make a big annoucement earlier.

I waited until the anatomy scan before we finally announced, so it was a combo gender announcement as well. It's our first pregnancy and I want to be extra careful.

A lot of the new announcements in my circle of friends are also first babies and older couples. Though no one else I know waited as long as us, the apprehension is understandable.

We told close friends and family by 13 weeks. I posted on Facebook when we knew the gender. That was 18 weeks. It just made sense to wait for us un we actually got to see the baby before everyone we had ever known on FB knew. Also, considering our ages, we wanted to make sure the baby was healthy.

Oh, also, I will add that I have also seen a trend re: not putting an announcement up until around 20 weeks or when people know the gender. It seems kind of common among my friends.

I feel like I see a pretty even distribution of timing. Some shockingly early, mostly at the end of the first trimester, quite a few at the 20 week mark, and some not until like right before they deliver or when they deliver.

We told people in person after 12 weeks....but I didn't announce on FB until we knew the gender (almost 19 weeks). First, I was still paranoid after 12 weeks (since I'd had a prior miscarriage). Second, since it took a little while for us to conceive, I was really sensitive to FB announcements and almost didn't put anything up at all. So, basically I delayed, but then was just too darn excited after we found out the gender to not put something up.

We announced ours on FB at 18 weeks when we knew then gender. We just weren't ready to make a super big announcement until then. I recently saw where someone peed on the stick and put a pick on fb 5 min later- I guess things like that make me go the extreme other way.

Seems like everyone I know is announcing their pregnancy on Facebook these days!! It makes sense since we went to SO many weddings about 2 years ago. But something I've noticed is that people are announcing REALLY late-- they usually already know the gender, so they've got to be at least 18 weeks in, which seems pretty late to be announcing, to me. One couple just announced last week and they are due in June! I remember announcing just before I hit the 3 month mark.

Anyone else noticing lots of mid second trimester announcements?
