@MrsBrewer: Yeah. It's a pretty miserable experience. I hear it's worse when you get it as an adult!

You know, I have never even gotten the chicken pox! I did get the vaccine though when I was in high school. From what my husband says, he was miserable when he got it.

@Miss Adia: Wow! Tall girl and a smartie! :) We have our LO's 9 month exam coming up this week. We're a month late on our vaccine schedule so she'll be 10 months old (exactly) at her 9 month appt. :)
I had chicken pox when I was 5? The memories are a blur, but I remember being itchy and miserable. Had to miss a lot of school too. Pretty sure my LO will be getting the vaccine. Don't want her to suffer. And don't wanna suffer with her.

We just got back from my daughter's 5 year old check up. She's in the 97th percentile for height and 88th for weight. 48 pounds/50 inches. SUPER tall just like me.
I did decide to get her the chicken pox vaccine. We spoke about it for like 20 minutes and I felt better about doing it. (please, no anti/pro vax discussions.)
She got a sticker for knowing all of our telephone numbers, address of my home, job, FH's job, and nana, and she got a certificate for knowing how to tie her shoes.
She even counted to thirty in French for him. (her bio dad is French so he teachers her) |
I know some people don't like these type of threads because it seems like they are bragging, but I wanted to share! Anyone have any great check up updates?
