DS tends to have yeasty diaper rashes when he gets them. We do coconut oil during the day and Triple Paste at night, and when he has the rashes we use Resinol, it's an OTC cream that our pedi gave us samples of, that always tends to clear things up by the end of the day if we use it for every change.

Oh - Lady M got one on Wednesday. I took her to the dr. on Thursday b/c I knew the rash just didn't look right - it looked like irritated white heads. We now have a Nystatin cream I've been putting on 4x a day and it's almost all cleared up. Good luck!

@runsyellowlites: thank you!! I saw your post about your diaper cream in an old post on the boards. Really appreciate the insight, especially by I think I am more afraid of thrush than I was of pushing. And that's saying a lot.

The probiotics is a GREAT defense!

I made our own diaper cream of equal part of Aquaphor & Lotrimin, & a bit of Maloxx until I got the consistency I wanted. I'd imagine if you made some & put it in a small container your daycare could just use it & be none the wiser of what was in it.

For yeast it can easily take a week for it to clear AND you need to continue treating it for 5 days! to avoid re-infection.

You can also put some lotrimin on your nipples a couple times a day as a preventative measure & just wipe it off before feedings. Lot of air time for your nipples too, especially if you leak ever. Keeping them "sunned" and dry will help prevent & treat any yeast! ;)

@scg00387: bummer that it hasn't resolved itself after that long! We did do some bottom free time outside today which hopefully helps.

We're fighting one too without any signs in his mouth. Pedi said to layer antifungal .5 or 1% cortisone cream then a zinc oxide diaper cream three times a day. We haven't had much luck so I think I'm going to take him in on Monday :( I know sunshine helps too - unfortunately were still dealing with snow!

I am on keflex for a foot infection and I am breast feeding. I am taking probiotics for myself but didn't even think about giving them to L. Now he has what I think is a yeast diaper rash.

I started him on probiotics, am prepping paper towels w/ soapy water for wipes instead, and bought clomitrizole (sp?) cream to use instead of diaper rash cream. I am planning on having him nap bottomless on towels today, and am calling the dr tomorrow since its his first one and I don't know if daycare would use that lotion on him wo a prescription.

I am terrified of an oral thrush infection...can I do anything else in the meantime? I don't see any white patches in his mouth and I don't have any pain while/after nursing.

Thanks!
