Lo1 and I had thrush a few times and he had bad test rashes often. he was prone to nasty yeast diaper rash.. so we were generally both on the yeasty side of things. It was hard to tell where it started and stopped...

It's been totally different for lo2. I was worried for a while when they shared diapers, but it was never an issue...

Their constitution are so different.

It probably won't, but it is possible he could have thrush AND the other yeast infection. I've developed them both simultaneously after antibiotics but I was on them a long long time (months.) I don't think you have to go TOO crazy with the sterilizing because thrush is the result of imbalance, rather than the presence of yeast alone. For now I'd make sure to take probiotics til you can call!

LO1, 2y2m, just got diagnosed with a yeast infection down in the diaper area. No visible rash, but he keeps grabbing his crotch and saying "owie." He just finished up 10 days of antibiotics and I guess that + being uncircumcised = bigger risk for a yeast infection.

I am still nursing him about 3x a day, 2-3min at a time. I am also nursing LO2, a newborn. Could a yeast infection down there on him, turn into a thrush infection for breastfeeding for both/all 3 of us? I'd HATE to get thrush.... all the sterilizing of everything, ugh. We already have to bleach ALL of his cloth diapers now, but thrush would mean also sterilizing all my bras, nursing pads, the bottles, and bottle nipples. I probably have to bleach all the newborn's cloth diapers, too. Groan.

I wasn't at the dr appt so I didn't get to ask the dr, the nurse line is closed. I asked a pediatrician friend of ours and he says it shouldn't become thrush /transferred through breastfeeding. But I was hoping to find some moms here with personal experience.
