Worked for most of our stuff. I did 2 rounds of overnight soaks and sun drying.

So it pretty much worked! Some stains came clearer than others (but had been in there 5 years!). 5 hour oxi soak and sunshine

My friend told me 1/2 blue dawn and 1/2 hydrogen peroxide. Rub that on the stained part, then do your regular wash. She did this to a onesie I lent her that had a stain and it worked for her. It doesn't work for me....

5 hours of OXY alone didn't work so I put them out to dry in the sun. And then it immediately clouded up outside. UGH!

if you try all of those things and no dice( sometimes an oxi soak doesn't do it for me) two more things to try.
oxi paste made with a little water, oxi, and blue dawn right on the spots
if that doesn't work, try a fels naptha bar

I had that on a bunch of hand me downs, all around the necks. I soaked for several hours in oxyclean then washed it with detergent like normal. Probably put most stuff in the dryer since we didn't have anywhere outside to dry. Got almost everything out!

I use the peroxide/dish soap trick, then hot water and oxi clean, then laundry cycle.

This stuff works well on those stains (with the sun dry too). We used them on nice family baby clothes from the 1940s even!

@winniebee: I did wash them first. I can't remember whether I soaked them in oxi only or oxy + detergent, but I think the most effective part was the sun anyway.

Yeah, that happens from baby spit up. We had a ton of things with yellow stains. I think most washed right out, except some bad ones on plain white onesies and we didn't try too hard with those.

A soak in oxi and hot water, then a regular wash cycle with detergent took care of the yellow spots for me. No sun needed!

@peachykeen: Did you wash them in detergent after the oxi soak or just put them straight in the sun? When you removed from water were they still yellow or had the stains mostly cleared?

@winniebee: I'm not going to say that this is funny, exactly, but coincidentally - I'm soaking a bunch of yellow stained baby outfits and the cushion part of the baby swing (super yellow :bummed: ) in oxi clean as we speak. We'll see how it goes!

@bookwormmama: I read 2-3 scoops per gallon of water. I'm definitely being cautious and I filled the washer to soak level (which I'm guessing is 5 gallons) and put in 2 scoops. It's been soaking an hour.

@winniebee: how are you soaking them in oxi clean? Is there a certain ratio? I just pulled out some sleepers from DS and they also have yellow stains I need to try to get out!

That's exactly what worked for me a few months ago - the sun took out anything that didn't come out in the wash. Make sure they're still pretty wet when putting in the sun.

At least a dozen nice outfits from DS1/DS2 are stained yellow. I'm currently soaking them in OXI clean and then will dry in the sun. Has this worked in getting out stains for anyone? Has anything else worked instead? I don't mind tossing onesies but there are a handful of Janie and Jack outfits and I'm going to be so annoyed if the stains don't come out!
