They have a ton of fans who have been very "OMG ARE YOU PREGNANT YET?" (causing them to write posts about things like The State of My Uterus) and I imagine that in their shoes, even if they weren't trying/decided Clara's birth was too traumatic to even have another kid (which I would totally understand) they'd still want to dangle that possibility to the fans.
