I'm surprised that they're done done. I would have thought they could have made the transition smoother and not so abrupt as to lose fans. I felt like their blog kept me motivated to work on our house and it is really the only blog in my blogroll that really represented where DH and I are in life and how we approach renovation. My guess is something came up in their personal lives that pushed the decision. It seems as though this has been a lucrative career for them (I'd love to have sponsors 'pay' me to fix up my house and blog about it :wink: ), and for both of them to leave it abruptly is a bit odd. In the past they usually were pretty thoughtful in how they shared information, so this ending seemed to come about suddenly.
