I asked him to give me three months to prove it was worth it, and in the beginning all he had to do was open the app and look before spending money. Now he loves ynab and enters all his own stuff. I've been using it for a couple months and love it but I know I'm not using it exactly as it was designed to be used. I didn't have enough time/attention for the videos!<br /> DH enters a little, it's easier for me to do most of it though. He has the app so he can look and see what we have in each category though, which he agrees is easy and helpful. I just go on my computer nightly and login to each of my accounts to manually reconcile because I like to be as up to date as possible. I download all of our bank/visa transactions which allows me to itemize all of our purchases. Sign up for their online classes which are free and cover the basics. They are great for helping you to understand how to use all of the functions of the program. Don't worry about trying to set up too many categories right from the start. As you continue using it you can add something later if you want to be more specific.</p> <p>3. Reconcile your account balance every time you are in the program. This helps avoid errors and missing transactions.</p> <p>As far as daily spending... I do all of the entering into the program. My SO won't use the app and we make all of our purchases with our debit card so I just input transactions from our internet banking.
