I totally did hot yoga and a level two flow prior to getting pregnant (now 26 weeks as well)! Honestly I feel the detox process you go through during certain forms of yoga really helps the body. You're doing all kinds of fun things like detoxing your kidneys, liver, etc. I'm also still doing "tough" balances and some backbends now even though you usually skip them during prenatal practice. I think it all depends on the person's body but I totally think you'll be fine! :)

I would definitely lean towards going for the unlimited package, but just to be safe, to talk to your RE first. How liberating it would be to get the okay from your doctor, too! Mine said to take a break from CrossFit during my IVF, which sucked. But as long as you're doing what the doctor said, you can't go wrong.

I got pregnant with my sticky baby (so far! 26 weeks now) when I had been doing hot yoga 3-4 times a week for 3-4 months straight. I say go for the unlimited package!

@momazon: Thanks! I think you're right. I actually did yoga (somewhat carefully) the night before my fresh transfer and felt like that was very helpful. Also, I just tried a "Gentle Yoga" class that should be fine, almost no matter what. Yay! This makes me happy!

I would think this could only help, since it'll help keep you fit and increase blood flow, etc. Since you're not going to be stimming your ovaries this time around, I don't think you'd have any restrictions such as no bending/twisting/etc. From a mental perspective, I think this would be stellar in helping you process through everything and stay strong. I vote do it. :)

I know this topic has come up a few times over the years...so I'd like to refer to this as "Yoga During Pregnancy: The IF Version.". :silly:

I am currently in love with going to yoga class--I have an unlimited month-long "trial" membership and during most weeks have made it to between 3-4 classes. My trial is almost at an end...and I'm wondering if I should continue with an unlimited membership (which is much cheaper if you're going to at least a couple of classes most weeks) with a 3 month commitment...or if I should hold off for now and practice at home. I suppose I also have a third option..which would be to mostly practice at home, but to buy a multi-class pass (more expensive option), so that I can go to class once a week or so...

I should know by now that I shouldn't try to plan anything "because I might/will probably be pregnant by that time"...but I'm planning a FET in exactly 2 months...so if I'm not going to want to go to classes at that point, I'd be wasting at least 1 month worth of membership fees.

I'm feeling very ambivalent...I love how relaxed my mind and body can feel after yoga...I just don't want to be funneling energy and resources away from my reproductive functions at a critical juncture...and also don't want to be left wondering "what if" or worse yet, blaming myself, if things don't go as planned.

I should add that I'm taking beginner to Level 2 classes that feature some challenging poses and am doing an occasional Flow class (no hot yoga, no inversions). And I tend to be a bit competitive with myself, as in "sure I'm comfortable enough to add/adjust difficulty/remove support!"

Any advice, especially from the IFers?
