@MsMini: I've seen the ruler growth charts on Pinterest, so cute! Sounds like you have a lot going on to keep you busy. Your LO will love the tissue pomanders, and maybe that will help when it comes to the squirmy age so your LO will want to stay looking up at them instead of turning over all the time. Maybe I should try that too!

@artbee: Yeah, I have some things I want to do for the nursery (which actually isn't even started yet - we are finishing some renos right now). We are going to finish putting up some drywall, then we are paying someone to mud/tape. While they do that DH will paint the nursery. Meanwhile I am working on some typography prints for the room, I also want to make tissue pomanders for above the change table, and a ruler style growth chart. None of those should take me too too long, but give me something to do. I might also take on a couple other projects since I will have the time.

I did a LOT of cleaning & nesting before LO was born. I had about 3 weeks before she came so it isn't nearly the same I know. That's wonderful you can still go for walks & things, that really helped me keep my patience.

@skibobrown: I used to crochet, I tried taking it back up at the beginning of the pregnancy, but I lost the motivation. I do have a sewing machine, and have been coveting some owl pillows on Etsy, so maybe I can try to make a couple. I only wish that I could work from home! My co-workers that I talked to today said I should top in and visit when I am at the hospital for tests and appointments, which I will probably do!

@artbee: The only time I have ever really DIYed anything was for my wedding, I did my own invites, card box etc ... I have a couple little projects planned that I can maybe start with, I will have to hit Michaels and Home Depot soon to get supplies.

@mediagirl: My OB has been trying to get me to stop working for the past 2 weeks, and I have resisted like crazy until now, but my latest blood work and ultrasound convinced me it is time to go off (baby is beginning to be effected by my complications, and that scares me). I am in Canada, so I will have a year off from the time baby is born, and I am a workaholic, so it is crazy to me that I will be away for that long.

Well good luck, and hopefully you can enjoy the time off! I sense that a new hobby might be needed. Do you knit? I've taken up knitting while I'm waiting for baby to come.

I'm also at home until baby comes, but I'm only 2 weeks out from my due date and am still able to work from home. I guess there's not really a work from home option for a NICU worker, huh?

Looking forward to seeing you around more!

Oh yikes! I'm so sorry that you're being pulled out of work but it sounds like you're handling it well. Those babies that are in the NICU will be in good hands with your fellow nurses and there will be new ones when you go back to work!!

I like @artbee's ideas of crafting. Maybe put something together so you have a shadowbox ready for your LO when he/she arrives to put his/her coming home outfit in. Or start working on the baby book?

Oh no! At least its spring time now and you can get out more than if was still cold and wintery. Hopefully the 6 weeks will fly by.

Do you like to craft or DIY? I did a lot of cross stitching while waiting for LO. It's easy and mindless, but you get great results. I made her a blanket, bibs, etc.

Good luck with everything, and enjoy the time you get to relax! Soon there will be no relaxing.... ever.

Well, today I got the verdict that I can finish off the week of work, but then my OB is putting me off on sick leave until baby is born.

I have had a few complications (hyperemesis that I am still medicated for, gestational diabetes, and pregnancy induced hypertension), that don't seem to be getting better, and that seem to act up more when I am working.

I will be 34 weeks on my last day of work, so I don't have forever to wait for baby, hopefully. I am not on bed rest, thankfully, and I can still do aquacise, clean the house, walk the dog, and get ready for baby, which I am thankful for.

I don't know how I am going to fill my time for the next 6 weeks, so I am sure I will be posting up a storm!

I am going to miss my little NICU babies, and my co-workers, but as my OB said, if I keep going like I was going, I could be joining them as a patient earlier than I would like.
