@Foodnerd81: pretty well considering everything. He just failed another swallow study, so still nothing by mouth until he repeats it in three months.

@Running Elley: @KT326: I am both saddened and relieved to hear that this water sputtering thing is normal and keeps happening. And yes, it was like she was so excited drinking it that it went down too fast.

@Running Elley: DS does this still and he is almost 2!

I don't know how many times he has face planted in the tub. I'm always right there but can never seem to catch him!

Eek how scary!! Wine sounds well deserved! DS still "chokes" on water all the time and he's 16.5 months! He just gets so excited drinking and doesn't stop to breathe! It still makes me nervous.

@Foodnerd81: DD did this yesterday after breakfast. She was so scared and wanted to cough it out.. but it's water! The only reason I was ok was because I knew it was just water! Poor babies

Not what your DD is going through, but my DS2 can and does choke/aspirate thin liquids, which is why he has a feeding tube. Sounds like it just went down the wrong pipe!

What a night. Nothing actually happened but we had a couple of scary moments that have me really wanting a glass of wine!

We are doing blw, so I'm hyper aware of choking and gagging while C is eating. Of course, she's fine eating her banana slices, but as I was giving her some sips of water from a cup she must have swallowed wrong and did the same coughing choking thing that we do when we get water down the wrong pipe like that. The scared face she had is heartbreaking. But it was just water- you can't actually choke on water, right? We went back to the sippy cup after that.

Then not an hour later I have her in the bath when a thunder storm starts up, getting my dog barking up a storm. I am right next to the tub trying to calmly call the dog int the bathroom so I can calm him while staying next to the baby in the tub. C is leaning forward playing with the other side of the tub while I wash her back and she slipped a little and went face first into the water, for a split second before I pulled her up, but again she's choking on the water and scared. Poor little baby. I just held her as she coughed and cried until she calmed down.

I told Dh he should probably come home soon! Poor kid is feeling a little out of sorts and extra snuggly and I'm happy to give the exta hugs.

No point to this post really, I guess. But thanks for reading. :)
