@septemberlove: Gah - it's not like you're naming him *the child formerly known as Junior* . . . and even if you were, your baby, your call! I would probably be a stinker about it, and take a picture of him in a onesie with *Junior* across the chest. #JustSayin :P

@Reese: Agree! Although I hate to say it, but it probably won't be the last boundary issue. *lesigh*

I have never understood why other people think their opinions need to be voiced about someone's child's name. It is none of their business!

I think thats cute if you want to call him Junior. Plus it distinguishes him from your DH. Once he gets here, you never know what nicknames will stick.

Totally inappropriate, especially at your shower! People suck sometimes; I'm sorry.

How ridiculous! It is your baby so you get to pick the name. I bet in 6 months, theyll all be used to it and ccall him that without a second thought....i hope!

I'm sorry they were so rude about it! My ILs threw a fit because our baby WON'T be a Junior - they were adamant about it. I will never understand why people butt in the naming process when it isn't their baby.

I pretty much told them I didn't care and DH wouldn't either. He is so excited about having a Junior. I told them they could burst his bubble if they felt the need, but that that's be pretty rotten of them.

@septemberlove: ugh! i hate people with name comments. Junior is cute! And you need a way to differentiate him from your DH! Tell them to shut it! ;)

The most annoying thing to come out of my shower was mymother's relatives telling me what I can and cannot call MY child. My husband and I are naming him Junior (as in, his first, middle, and last names will be identical to my husband's, the Junior suffix added)

Their issue isn't with the fact that he will be a Junior but that we refer to him as Junior.

My husband prefers it and I'm not arguing with him because it's my preference as well.

I told them they could raise the issue with my husband if they wanted to but that he wouldn't give a crap what they thought.
