- clingy
- chewing frantically on everything
- sleep? routines? what are those?
- crying and writhing while I rock her

LO had her two bottom front teeth pop over the course of the last week and it has been no fun in our house. Last night she chewed down on one of her bath toys that's made of pretty hard plastic and screamed, then spent then next fifteen minutes sobbing and shoving her fists in her mouth as if she was desperately trying to stop the pain. Heartbreaking.

I hope its not going to be this bad every time she cuts a tooth. I had to go back to rocking and nursing down for every nap, which I haven't done since she was tiny, and she fought me tooth and nail every time.

ETA: Also, 5am wake ups all week! Booo.

@smurfette, I TOTALLY think that is it. Distractions FTW

I ordered an amber necklace. I hope it comes in soon!

@locavore_mama: Yeah, the canines and one molar all came in together, then a week or two later his pedi said the molars were definitely on the way. That was...4 weeks ago? He's miserable enough that I can assume they haven't cut through yet but he clamps his mouth shut or bites whenever I try to check...

@lovehoneybee: M has everything (all 16) but her four 2 year molars which she is cutting now at 16m. And they are coming in like 2-3 weeks after her canines. :( No rest for the weary....

So much drool.
Really cranky.
Frantic, constant nursing.
Up every hour or two. All night. And no soothing method keeps him asleep for very long.
Chews on EVERYTHING...hands, feet, my shoulder.

He did okay with everything else...canines and a molar came in last round and we just had a week of bad sleep, but the other 3 molars are coming in now and it's been miserable around here. I want to cry pretty much all the time and I'm so sleep-deprived it's not even funny anymore. His pedi said this should be it (teeth 14-16) until he's around 2, so at least there's that...

When his eyes glow red and he says, "C isn't here right now."

We used the amber necklace, so his symptoms weren't too terrible. Fingers in the mouth, occasional sleep disruptions, picky eating, random tantrums, but it always passed fairly quickly. His molars and canines were the worst. Canines have taken forever to come in.

@blackbird: R would be fussy at home at night and on the weekends, but day care said she doesn't seem in pain/annoyed there. I guess cause noisy pants has other things to look at/play with all day she doesn't focus on it.

Booooo. I'm happy to let daycare deal with her crabbiness today. I'm hoping all the other kids keep her entertained and not focused on her chompers bugging her. It's a well known fact in our house that other babies are far more interesting than mommy :P

@blackbird: yes! We were very lucky and M had everything but her canines and 2 year molars. None of her previous teeth bothered her much. Then the canines were horrible and now the 2 year molars are bad as well. :(

ugh so the teething gets worse, eh? I'm pretty sure E is working on her first tooth. She is eating poorly (only 2-3 oz at a time instead of SIX!), which also means she wakes up more at night to eat, but she's also drooling like crazy, chewing on anything and everything, and is whiny/fussy on and off throughout the day. If i entertain her, she's ok but as soon as I stop, it's like she focuses on the pain.

@loveisstrange: hahah notice something similar between our lists? ;)

M cut her canines about 3 weeks ago and they were brutal. I have never seen her in so much pain from teething. It was the first time we gave her ibuprofen for teething!!! Finally after a week the top 2 popped through. Then 2-3 days later the bottom 2 popped through. No wonder she was in so much pain! :(

<~Right here. We have molars but we're working on canines. She popped one through late last week, so three more to go.

-Tons of drooling
-Unexplained crankiness for a normally laid-back kid
-Refusal to eat
-Waking up screaming in the middle of the night and distrupted sleeping/napping habits
-Chewing on her whole hand

- she whines/whimpers even while in your arms
- she lets out a bone chilling scream in her sleep but never wakes up
- your shoulder is soaked after she puts her head on it for 2 seconds
- your STTN baby wakes up and needs soothing to fall back asleep
- she jambs her whole fist into her mouth

My 16 month old has all her teeth with the exception of her four 2 year molars. Yup, she's cutting at least one of them.

Who else is in undeniable teething hell?
