So funny how our LOs all seem to be on extreme ends: super fast or super slow! lol!

I ended up letting her take the last bit of french toast with her and found it later on the floor in her room. Ugh… that's why I can't allow grazing.

I give Xander toast in the morning on the weekends so that I can make and eat my own breakfast, but he ends up taking at LEAST an hour to eat it!!!!

my LO is a pretty fast eater, mainly because she wants DOWN like asap, and she doesnt eat much to begin with :bummed: When she starts chucking food and crying/whining mealtime is usually over.

DD usually sits in her high chair for 20 minutes. It's pretty clear when she is done...

Oh Lord we're in the same boat. It takes forever. She also still only has 4 teeth so it takes her a super long time with certain foods like meat. Usually my husband's still feeding her dinner after I'm done cleaning up!

@fancyfunction: Yep, us too. DD frequently finishes her meal before DH and I are done eating. She's an eating machine.

Like 20-30 mins tops. Anything after that she just picks up the plate and throws it on the floor cause she is done.

Hmm, I guess we have the opposite problem b/c if I break something into pieces (like a pancake, say) and put all of it on her tray, she'll shovel it all into her mouth until it's gone! So I can only give her a few pieces at a time ;)

FOREVER.

And she still takes a looong time to eat (at 27 months). She pretty much just grazes all day long.

Not quite sure hot to title this?

If you let your younger toddler (no utensils yet) feed him/herself, how long does it take? How long is a mealtime? When do you decide it's over?

K is the slowest eater! If I am letting her feed herself (i.e. bread, noodle, fruit, etc.) she can seriously take her sweet time! We've been eating the same piece of french toast for over an hour because she loves to nibble on it. And when I try to clean up and take it away, she still wants it. I think my limit is 1.5 hr for one meal!
