My LO speaks pretty early (she's 11 months and says 4 words correctly) but she's no where near walking on her own! I read that excerpt and what I took from it was that at 14 months your child probably doesn't have many words. I scolded DH for using the word "bottle" around LO because we're working hard on sippy cups. He said that LO doesn't understand English. D tends to hit his milestones on the late end of the range, and I would absolutely panic about it. Horses are bigger than dogs."), and she'll soon pick it up. </p> <p>Uhhh...right. My child has one word - "uh oh" at this age and this article makes it sound like she should have more than that. I'm not down with comparing milestones at this age. Kids learn and do things at such different times, it bugs me that they're making it sound like your child "should" have words by now. </p> <p>Do you worry about milestones after getting these emails from babycenter? Are you good at letting it go? Did you get annoyed enough to cancel these emails like I'm considering doing? :) </p>
