I’m in a similar situation where my husband took care of it on his end. Honestly, I don’t even really pay attention. It always comes as a surprise. I’m sure there’s reasons why I should pay attention, but after years of doing so, it’s nice being something I don’t have to worry about.

My tubes are tied so I am not on birth control and I am fairly regular...usually within a day or two of when my apple watch tells me I'll be getting it. BUT my covid vaccines and subsequent booster have messed up my cycle for a month or two after my shots. My ob-gyn said that's normal but I really don't like it.

I‘ve got an IUD so things are probably even more unpredictable for me, but one thing that’s helped is I’ve started tracking when I see a lot of fertile CM and that gives me a pretty good guess of when my period will show up.

I also miss the predictability of being on the pill. My cycles have been fairy regular since coming off of it but they have been much heavier than before. I talked to my OBGYN about it and they said it was my new normal after 2 kids.

@DillonLion: I've been off hormonal bc since trying for #2. I had my tubes tied with her so I never went back on (she just turned 2). I feel like it took me a good year before my cycle became predictable again after having her. I'm sure being post partum was a huge part of it taking so long, however I didn't breastfeed or anything to effect my cycle in any way. I use a free app to track so I at least have an idea of where I'm at, when I should be expecting it, etc. I'm definitely to the point where I resent getting my period every month though 😅

ETA I was on the pill for 18 years aside from my 1st pregnancy.

What you described is the only thing I ever miss about birth control! The predictability was great. But overall, I feel so much better off it, it's been well worth the tradeoff. I still temp to have a better sense of my cycle, and that helps clue me in a little more to when my period will start - but definitely varies some from month to month.

I’ve been off bc 13 years maybe, since I didn’t like what it did to my hormones. This is pretty normal for me. Like I know it’s coming near the last week of the month but my full cycles are not all the same length (nor are my periods) so I have to just deal with it. Annoying for sure!

I never spent much time on hormonal birth control because all of them give me migraines, but my cycle is regular within a few days. So like rather than knowing it’s coming on Friday it would be like late next week. With some time I’m sure you’ll get more able to tell once you get into the window when to be prepared, but if you’re asking more for like planning things weeks ahead of time, that’s probably not going to happen, bodies are weird and are going to do what they’re going to do. It sucks and I can see how it would be hard coming off bc where you know exactly when and how long all the time.

DH got snipped last year so I have finally gotten off birth control for the first time since I was 16 (except for the 2 times I got pregnant).

My cycle is "mostly" regular, but it is hard to predict the exact day or exactly how long my cycle will be. I miss knowing the exact day or two and the length of my cycle each month. Anyone else dealing with this?
