We had moved into a new apartment about 3 months before, but then I miscarried, got sick, had tons of health stuff going on, so his party was our chance to show everybody that we were back to normal and ready to live a regular life again. He turned 30 this year, so my friend and I planned a big joint party for DH and his best friend since their birthdays are a week apart. We planned it around all their favorite foods, hobbies, etc, so I thought he'd enjoy it.
