It is big, but part of the reason I like it is because it has a really nice recline. LO sleeps in the car a lot and it seems really comfortable for that reason. I also love the fabric, it is never too hot or cold, just always comfortable. We have it in a two door car. It is large and makes me have to sit pretty far up but I am still comfortable. If it helps I am 5'7. R seems comfy in it! It is big but we have an suv and only one lo so the size hasnt been an issue. However, we did it knowing that we would have a bigger car before #2 is ready for a convertible. So, LO will be in the Britax until #2 is ready for it. At that point we'll probably move LO into a Diono Radian as she'll need a bigger seat by then. I actually really liked the seat. It seemed super comfortable. It was just so huge. So huge.
