@stiletto_mom: Oh, and I don't think my DH read anything about TTC. He read a pregnancy book w/me ("What to Expect When You're Expecting").

@stiletto_mom: I bought prenatal vitamins from Costco... I think the brand was NatureMade? It has folic acid & DHA.

I don't think I read any specific books before TTC. Just did lots of googling and that was enough to help me understand my cycle, ovulation signs, etc. I always meant to read TCOYF but never did. Someone here suggested "The Great Sperm Race" on YouTube and that was interesting :)

Thanks so much. Any other book recommendations?

Anything for dad to be? Did your husbands read any books anyway?

I also read Taking Charge of Your Fertility. My fav pregnancy book is Pregnancy, Childbirth, and the Newborn by Penny Simkin

Lots of clear to the point info, they lay out all the child birth options you have, etc. No weird scare tactic stuff.

Taking Charge of Your Fertility is the go to if you want to really understand your cycle and maximize your chances. I was familiar with the general concepts so I went and read a chunk at the bookstore because we are on a budget!

As far as vitamins, my ob/gyn said any prenatal vitamin with folic acid is recommended as soon as you are ready to try, and some recommend 3 months prior. I just take the target generic brand and have for over 3 years now.

The fertility friend online "course" was extremely helpful for me in understanding my body and what I needed to do to actually get pregnant.

Hi everyone. We are waiting to try and getting close to our TTC month. I'd like to start "prepping" my body. I've been exercising and eating well. I've noticed good changes.

I'd like to start thinking about vitamins or supplements that I should take to get my body ready for pregnancy. Any recommendations?

Also, I'd like to brush up on some reading. Do you have any recommended books or websites with useful, to-the-point information? What were some of the best reads you had? Thanks!!
