I got pregnant with my first using Clomid, so fingers crossed for you! My doctor started me off on 7.5mg, and I haven’t had any side effects except the cramping today. Clomid made me extremely emotional. I didn't have bad side effects, just one day while on 5mg where I was in a funk I couldn't seem to shake. But otherwise it was fine. Femara wasn't a good fit for my body though, and we've had a better response this month with Clomid and though I was afraid of the stories about Clomid side effects, I felt great on it. No side effects other then a little bit of dizziness the first cycle. My RE started me off on 5mg and I produced 4 follicles, on 2.5mg I only produced 1, but it was obviously a good one. All blood tests and ultrasounds came back normal. The RE believes I am not ovulating and after testing a few months with no positive ovulation tests, he suggested femara. I took Clomid for a month prior to starting Femara and the difference was night and day. I can't believe Clomid is even prescribed anymore with as great as Femara is.
