@lamariniere: I bet getting an extra cup is no problem at all. I like the snack catchers as they have a lid (but my LOs are younger than yours I believe). We use these: http://www.amazon.de/dp/B004QQ5HPW/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_mofrxb0R8RWKM but there is also one from NUK which is a little cheaper in EU I think: http://www.amazon.de/dp/B00FLL2K06/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_nrfrxb1Y2ZMPA

@Pumuckl: good idea, I plan on putting bags of snacks in more bags so I can always have a trash bag available, and a way to close everything! Having an individual snack bowl for each of them is a good idea...or maybe I can get some extra plastic cups from the flight attendants.

@looch: @yoursilverlining: I wish I could get single serve packs of almond butter here, but it's just not on the market. I would love them for myself.

@edelweiss: apple slices are a good idea, I was planning on quartering a bunch of cucumbers and some carrot sticks. And fruit gummies are a great idea! I usually give them lollypops for the descent (for their ears) but I'm thinking that chewing a gummy would be better, and less sticky.

My LO's favorites are:

Goldfish
Single serve almond butter packets
Hummus packet with pretzels (single serve deal)
Cheese sticks (I buy at airport so they are cold)
Bananas (nice because no real mess)
Cereal in a zip-lock baggie

She also loves eating whatever snack is on the plane, especially pretzels. They taste better than the "regular" ones, according to LO :silly:

sliced apples--they hold up pretty well even during a long flight, and it's nice to have something fresh.
grapes
granola bars
cookies
dried fruit--trader joe's has a good, interesting selection (like pineapple and freeze dried mango)
crackers
fruit gummies (LO loves these)

I bring:
single serve peanut butter and almond butter
single serve cheese wedges, like laughing cow
a sleeve of crackers
pretzels
cereal or granola bars
cheerios in single serve cups, shelf stable milk
apple juice (as a treat)
dried fruit, usually cranberries (for my husband, lol)
applesauce in single serve containers
whole fruit, like bananas
chocolate, for bribes

I've never brought instant oatmeal, but I suspect it could work in a pinch with hot water. In the US you can buy it in cups with fruits and nuts. Same with something like Easy Mac. Ahhhh, American convenience food, lol.

I try not to bring stuff that's too aromatic. And usually my husband is the first to dig into the snacks.

On our last flights I had:
- crackers
- little pretzels
- raisins
- dried cranberries
- dried apple rings

well and pouches since my 3 year old still loves them...
I just avoid anything with sugar.

I keep the snacks in their bag and put a ziploc over that bag that keeps the mess at bay and I put the snacks in snack containers for the kids (or let them eat directly out of the bag).

My LOs are 2.5 and 5. We are pretty much done with pouches and I need some fresh snack ideas for a long haul flight.
