104.7 the week he had salmonella. It was awful and so scary. Worst part was that we could not do a thing for it except let it run it's course.

105.9 after Tylenol, and he was so listless. He was just laying on my chest not blinking while I frantically trying to get ahold of my husband. I took him to the ER. He'd had spiking fevers all week and his dr thought maybe roseola, but that temp was scary high and the culprit ended up being a double ear infection.

My kids never have gotten above 104. If it get that high I usually take them in. My sister had such a high temp that the thermometer just read "high" as the temp. It was past the numbers. She had pneumonia and was hospitalized. Scariest situation ever!

105. DS just recently had a week of a really awful fever that just wouldn't come down or stay down, it hovered around 103-104 all week even with alternating Tylenol/Motrin, and he got SO much bloodwork while they tried to figure out what it was since it lasted 5+ days.

105.5 but I don't think it was completely accurate, he was lying that side down on the arm I checked. It just ended up being a virus with no other real symptoms and I didn't bring him into the pedi just because the temp was so high. If the fevers persisted two more days we would have had to do the full work up but thankfully they didn't. Even as a nurse, it was scary seeing him that high, but I didn't consider bringing him into er since he had no symptoms.

Mine got up to 105 (105.3 I believe) when she was 2.5 but it was the ear thermometer. I took it like every 10-20 minutes freaking out (it started at about 10:30 at night with a 101 fever but got up to 105 by 11:30, also jumped up fast as she didn't even have a fever at bedtime) and it was between 104.8-105.3. I got her to take advil and it did go down to 102-103 within an hour of meds so we stayed home. If it hadn't, we would have taken her in. The next day it disappeared after noon and never came back (though she didn't feel great the following day but no fever). Not sure what it was as it didn't come back after that. She never acted listless, she was actually adamant and resistant about not taking the advil so it took a lot of talking to get her to take it. When I asked the ped about it on Monday they said next time they would normally want to see her the following day or immediately but since it had gone away they only wanted to see her if it came back (which it didn't).

104.9 rectally. Shot up from 99.5 in less than 30 min. I was in the shower and DH yelled to me that he was shivering and burning up. Luckily ibuprofen brought it right down. So scary. When I brought him in the next day, the ped freaked out and said I should've brought him to the ER. I felt terrible but it came right down with meds and he was acting ok. Not sure what else they would've done.

DD1 was 104 once when she had roseola. It jumped from 99.5 to 104 in about 30 minutes. She ended up having a febrile seizure. It was terrifying. Thankfully, it's pretty common, and the ped said it'll likely never happen again.

105, twice. Once at 16 months while on a Disney cruise (the whole family came down with the flu, and my own temp was around 103), and once a few months later due to roseola on the morning we were supposed to fly out to a friend's wedding. We're lucky like that.

I use a forehead thermometer, which isn't as accurate as some, but I once got a 106 reading, AFTER she had taken Motrin. So scary. She was acting normal sick (tired but not listless) and we lived three blocks from the pediatrician, so I just rushed her up there (with no pants on her-oops!). By the time we got there it was down to 104. Just a freak virus. I hope to not see a temp like that again.

What has been your LO's highest fever?

LO2 had a fever of 105 on Saturday night, in the MOTN and that was the highest I've ever recorded either of them having. Luckily meds brought it down pretty quickly and it only ever went back up to 103.5. Both very high in my opinion, but glad we could control it.
