I started making them from scratch when I found America's Test Kitchen's recipe for Chewy Brownies. They really perfected the chewiness (and prevent the cakiness) by having just the right balance between saturated and unsaturated fat. It is a foolproof recipe! </p> <p>And...whole milk.
