Actually, not so much as so much as tell: "You're expecting!" Me: "No! Just fat!" I've gained about 15 lbs in the past year. Last year I was marathon training and very fit - this year I have slacked off and it shows.</p> <p>Anyway, it's heart breaking because I want so BADLY to say "Yes! I am pregnant!" instead, it's a painful reminder that my belly is jiggly and not for a good reason. The first time I laughed it off. I only say that because my MIL ALWAYS says things without really thinking, and I can see her saying that same thing to the skinniest girl in the room if she knew she was trying to have a baby.<br /> I don't know, I know it's hard when you are feeling self-conscious about your body to not take everything "that" way :( It's also so hard when you lose someone you care about. Your Nana will always know though, when you do finally get pregnant and have a baby. I'm not upset with my aunt or anything, it was just a crappy misunderstanding I guess. She's probably embarrassed that she said anything. It was just awful timing! Last year, when I was going through infertility issues, I went to a family wedding in Spain and one of my husband's tias pointed at my belly and went "bambino?" - I was slim at the time, it was just a very tight dress, lol - and lots of people asked when we were going to try. I was devastated and cried all night. People will be nosey and cruel and it will suck. Cry when you need to and let your husband comfort you - it helps. Her service was this weekend. An aunt on the other side of my family, whom I have not seen recently, came into the church (which was very much appreciated &amp; I love her dearly!) and announced, 'you're pregnant!' when she saw me. 'ummm, nope. Just fat!' then rather than dropping it, went on with, 'oh I just thought so because your dad had said you guys were trying...' 'oh, he did? Ok. Umm. I guess whenever it's meant to be it will be!' mind you, I've never talked to my dad about 'trying', maybe my mom said something to him because while I haven't come right out &amp; said it, I've asked her thoughts on drs (she works in the field) &amp; she knows I've had problems with my cycles. </p> <p>I left the church for a moment &amp; just cried. I cried because I'm sad my nana died, because I'm fat, because I look pregnant even though I'm not, because I wish so badly that I was pregnant, because I wish I got to tell my nana I was pregnant &amp; show her a baby I made, I cried because I got called out on being fat &amp; was mortified, because now I know everyone is aware that we're trying &amp; I'm failing to make a baby, and as silly as it sounds, I cried because I'd just spend a hundred dollars on a dress I thought was cute &amp; comfy but now I'll never wear it again!</p> <p>Anyway, yet another example of why not to ask someone about whether they're pregnant! </p>
