@Ginabean3: we took a cheapo umbrella stroller and her regular carseat. We strapped the carseat to a collapsable dolly so it would be easier to take around the airport.

@oliviaoblivia: thanks! Those are definitely economical and I love this pattern.

@Anagram: thanks! I would say LO naps in the stroller 30% of the time. I just see these moms pushing their LOs in non-reclining umbrella strollers but tilted back (like a wheelbarrow) to make them more comfortable when they sleep. And I always think, why the heck didn't they get the reclining one!

But....LO is a pretty decent sleeper anywhere.....I think if she was tired enough she could sleep standing up haha.

We are debating getting a cheap convertible for flying. Something like the Scenera.

As far as the stroller recline it's important for us because DD will take a long stroller nap when reclined but only gets a half nap if the seat is upright. When on vacation most of her naps end up being on the go. If your LO won't stroller nap that I imagine it wouldn't be as important.

@Ginabean3: I think the reclining feature and how necessary it is really depends on how often you'll use the umbrella stroller and if your LO is a good stroller napper.

If you live in a car-centric environment and only use strollers occasioally and an umbrella stroller even less than your regular stroller, I would say paying the extra $$ might not be necessary.

Or if your LO doesn't nap in strollers anyway, it's probably not necessary.

I have a few Texas friends who splurged on very expensive reclining umbrella strollers and have used it maybe once. As for the convertible car seat--I have no advice. We've flown several times but still with the infant seat. Not sure what we'll do when LO moves up to a convertible soon.

....on a plane with your LO and you need an umbrella stroller and a convertible car seat for your destination. Which ones do you bring?

Looking for something economical but not a piece of crap either. I may be taking a trip to St. Louis to visit my brother with LO this summer and I really don't want to lug our Diono car seat or bring our UB Cruz. We currently need an umbrella stroller anyway!

Also, regarding an umbrella stroller....how important is it that it reclines?

Thanks Bees! And happy Friday the 13th!
