That wouldn't work with my MIL for a variety of reasons. She did buy DS one book I really hated (all about being naughty and getting into trouble and it was just very strange) and I don't put it out. She asked once and I was like, "Oh, it's somewhere in our room because we were reading in there. I don't feel like digging it out right now." Sometimes if books have words I don't care for I just skip that part or change the word to something else. I would just avoid reading it to your LO and leave it out for Grandma to read when she comes over. I hate the book -- it calls sand, hot sauce and coffee yucky, and it introduces the terms "booger" and ear wax, wth? -- and my son brings me books to read all the time so I chucked it behind a bunch of other stuff on a high shelf.</p> <p>But she's coming back tomorrow -- my parents watch my son two afternoons per week -- and she was really excited about the stupid book so I am pretty confident she will notice its absence.</p> <p>What should I do? </p>
