@LBee: @LuLu Mom: @BananaPancakes: thank you so much ladies. I knew I should take it, but it helps to hear reassurance! Now I am just hoping this takes care of it; I am so sick of being sick!!

I took one around the 30 week mark for a nasty sinus infection. I was hesitant, but my ob insisted I needed it and that it was safe.

Yes, I had bronchitis at 8 months pregnant, the doctor said strong illnesses like this are more harmful than the antibiotic (I would think whopping cough would for sure fall under this!) I would go by the advice of your doctor not your friend, they know! Also, if you didn't get it from your OB/midwife, maybe call to be sure, but I think you are fine!

I did! He's a perfectly healthy 16 month old. I made a post about it - let me see if I can dig it up.

ETA - it's gold

So I am 22.5 week pregnant and I've had a terrible cold/cough for almost two weeks. I went to the doctor today and she suspects it is whooping cough (despite having been vaccinated). She prescribed a z pack for it. I was updating my friend and she freaked and told me not to take it bc they are dangerous. I know the doctor looked it up and said it was class b, but now I want to check. Any other pregnant moms ever take a z pack before?
