I was zero dilated at 40 weeks so scheduled my induction at 41 weeks. I never went into labor and was still zero dilated when the induction began.<br /> At my 7 am induction, I recieved a folley ballon and pitocin. Both did their job very well and I labored (in tub and with exercise ball) until about 3pm. At this point I was completely dilated but the ballon got stuck behind the babies head, it didn't fall out like it was suppose to. They turned the pitocin off at this point because my body had taken over (yay!) but I was in the worst pain I've ever experienced ( back labor!) and was begging for a epidural at this point, begging.<br /> Got the epidural, started pushing around 6 pm but what happened after this was my experience and doesn't mean what happened to me will happen to you. Couldn't push the baby out, apparently too small of pelvis.... Good to know;) and ended in C section ( best words I've ever heard at that point) well they took my epidural away after not being able to feel myself pushing :(.... I don't hope that on my worst enemy!!<br /> I will never go through that again, Hell No! IM happily scheduling my c section with my 2nd very soon :)!!! If I could have predicted what was going to happen, not being dilated and baby getting being stuck, I'd schedule a C section so I didnt have to experience that.<br /> Hope this doesn't freak you out. I remember being pissed at a nurse who told me it will be the worst pain you'll ever feel. Its the truth. Scheduled induction for 40+6. Failed. Ended up with C-section because there was no progression and her heart rate was not reacting well. I'll have a repeat C-section before I'll be induced again. The standard here is they'll let you go to 42 weeks before inducing, but will schedule it at 10 days over if you want. I opted to wait... I still wasn't really dilated at 41+4, but I went into labour that evening. Because I was not dilated and my cervix was very high, it was very hard to get in but they succeeded. it didn't really work very well but when they pulled it out and broke my water I did go into labour and a successful vaginal birth. I was 40 weeks+ and 0% everything. You name it, I was zero. I went til 41 and did an induction. He was going to let me go till 42 but the lack of progress (or anything really) concerned him. He thinks she could have stayed in there happily even longer. I wasn't huge, and wasn't terribly uncomfortable.<br /> I had the induction started with cervadil on a thursday night and had the baby 24 hours later after an easy and uncomplicated epidural birth. But when I went to the hospital at 40+4, after my water breaking and 2.5 hours of labour with contractions 2 mins apart, I was 0.5 cm dilated and 100% effaced. An hour later I was 2.5 cm, and was admitted. My baby was born just under 12 hours from the first contraction. My water had broken somewhere during that first half hour after the first contraction. This was me. 40 + 0 and not dilated even half a cm. Don't worry! We scheduled an induction (which I would have been fine with) but DS came on his own at 40 + 4. I was never checked (my midwife doesn't perform them until 41 weeks), but I planned to wait as long as possible before inducing. I went into labor at 40+4 on my own and had a 13 hour labor total. With my second, I was 2cm at 40 weeks and put off an induction as long as possible but had to be induced at 41+3. Doctor tried to manually dilate me with no luck, so we had to have the induction chat. Apparently it's uncommon for women to be past their due date and not dilated (I'm 40% effaced, but such has been the story for about two weeks now), so it seems that induction with the cervical ripening balloon is quite possible. </p> <p>My question for you, dear Hellobee readers, is has zero dilation (or something similar) at your due date happened to you or someone you know? And if so, did you put off the induction and go into labor naturally, or did you schedule an induction just to get it over with? </p> <p>Thanks in advance :happy: </p>
