@lawbee11: She did have a little trouble at first with rolling and some fabric bunching but got the hang of it after a couple days. Before you know it she will be rolling like a log in it!

@lawbee11: nope, no issues. DD was rolling both ways already when we put her in the ZZ, so it wasn't a problem for us.

@heartonastring: @Beyond2: @littleveesmommy: Did any of you have trouble with the ZZ once your LO started rolling? LO just started rolling back to belly about a week ago and I feel like she often gets caught in all the fabric of the ZZ and can't roll back over onto her back/side. She's also managed to get her arm out the top of the ZZ a few times while on her belly (I have NO idea how). So I have to go in and put her arm back in then flip her onto her back.

@heartonastring: That's awesome! Sounds a lot like how our swaddle weaning with ZZ went. I quickly ordered a few more after I realized they work so well. If you can, wait until Black Friday - they are usually good with sales during the holidays. =) I have about 4-5 ZZ that hopefully can be hand-me-downs for the next kiddo.

@lawbee11: We only have the cotton ones and would put DD in only a onesie underneath during the warmer months. I've even had her in them with just a diaper on the really warm days! In the winter she would wear a long sleeve onesie and pants or a footed PJ. Since it is completely enclosed they do tend to stay warmer. Hope it works for you!

@lawbee11: we just treated it like a sleeper and so she just has her diaper on underneath (this is what the ZZ site recommends too). We live in Canada and keep our house pretty cool at night and she was fine. I am going to order a minky fleece one though to use throughout the winter.

@lawbee11: We had the cotton ones and DS wore the thin footy pjs (not fleece) under it. We live in the northeast and used it in the winter.

@littleveesmommy: @heartonastring: @Beyond2: What do your LOs wear underneath it? My LO tends to run hot, so I am thinking maybe just a short-sleeved onesie? I ordered a cotton one, not fleece.

So that went quite well! She woke up at 12 and I nursed her - she was back to sleep by 12:20. Woke up and fussed a little shortly after 1, but put herself back to sleep, then slept until 6:50. Looks like I might need to order another couple ZZs!

We went straight to the Zipadee zip and actually weaned his binky the same night. He kept pulling it out and I decided I wasn't going back in to put it back every 2 mins! It went WAY smoother than I ever expected.

Update: so far, so good. She did a complete 180 in her crib and then flipped onto her tummy (she never tried to roll while swaddled or in the Merlin). I went in and made sure her hands were free and not pulled into the inside of the Zipadee-Zip so that she can roll back if she needs to. We'll see how she does as a tummy sleeper!

@lawbee11: We transitioned her straight from the swaddle to ZZ for naps first and then for bedtime 2 days later. At her first nap she was a little confused but she chewed her hands and fell asleep. By the 3rd day we put her in the ZZ for bedtime and she rolled right over! I think she liked the freedom but still felt some resistance. We bought the smaller size so she couldn't extend her arms all the way as the "transition" then switched to a medium after a couple months.

@Beyond2: @littleveesmommy: Did you just go from the swaddle to the zipadee-zip one night without any other weaning? If so, how was the first night in the zipadee-zip?

My daughter was a Miracle Blankie addict but when she started rolling over I had to wean her. We used the Zipadee-Zip for two reasons - it kept her hands covered so she wouldn't scratch at her eczema and it gave her a swaddle feel with the freedom to roll. I kept her in it until she was 16 months old! We got up to the largest size and I liked that it kept her warmer in the winter.

My son used the Zipadee zip to transition from his swaddle. It worked AWESOME for us. He wore it until he outgrew it and the transition to nothing was pretty seamless.

We've had great success with Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit for the past couple months since taking DD out of the swaddle. However, DD has this weird self-soothing habit of picking the inside of her ears - sometimes she causes them to bleed. So we had a Zipadee-Zip laying around and decided to give it a try tonight in hopes that the covered hands will leave her ears unscathed.

Just wondering if anyone else has used the Zipadee-Zip and if you've had success with it? She's currently awake in her crib, not crying, but not sleeping either. I'm hoping it won't be a terrible night!
