I took Zofran with my first pregnancy, but they discontinued prescribing it for pregnant women for my second because of some recent studies.

I will say that I was given Zofran intravenously in recovery after giving birth and I was obviously breastfeeding, so it didn't seem to have any impact on that aspect.

I would trial Diclegis first. It is a safer medication with less side effects. I can't remember the exact reason, but I know most OB's are not jumping on prescribing Zofran anymore unless there's concern for dehydration/ you can't keep anything down.

I took both zofran and diclegis while breastfeeding my two year old. It's supposedly safe, and I figured it is a tiny percent of the already small quantity of milk she was consuming. It didn't seem to affect her.

I only was given it once while in the hospital for fluids but they told me it was fine while breastfeeding and that its even given to babies sometimes. I took Unisom + B6 regularly and I guess that is fine too. I'm not a doctor but if it doesn't hurt a developing fetus I imagine it's safe enough for an older child to get a bit through breast milk. Hope you are feeling better soon!

I'm almost 6 weeks pregnant and my nausea has gotten to the point that I'm having to stay in bed most of the morning and missing out on things. I'm thinking I want to ask my doctor for Zofran. I'm still nursing my 2-yr-old. Has anyone else taken it while breastfeeding?
