@pachamama: Thanks! I am slowly building up a dose, so I'm hoping that'll help as I go and my doctor has been reassuring that it can just take time. Worrying that I'd react badly was part of why I put off (and put off some more!) entertaining the idea of medication, but it's definitely time to try.

I did not have a good experience with Zoloft but I didn't notice that.. I know it can take weeks and weeks to acclimate yourself to it. I'm sure the dry mouth will go away! Make sure you're starting slowly like 25mg then building up.

@Sams Mom: @peechykeen: Thank you both! It's encouraging to hear that some of the side effects faded for you within a few weeks. That feels in sight.

I had dry mouth for a couple weeks at most. I take it at night so it doesn't make a difference that it makes me a little groggy. It effects my sex drive a little, but the times I've been on it is post partum and during pregnancy... Sooooo that could just be the hormone roller coaster.

I can't comment on the dry mouth specifically, but Zoloft side effects in general (headaches, whatever) tend to get better after the first few weeks. Some doctors suggest easing into your dose - lower dose first few weeks and then increase. This is what I did and my headaches and other symptoms went away after a few weeks. Hang in there!

Random question...but I think a few of you ladies have mentioned taking this before when I looked back at older posts, and I have a question about Zoloft side effects I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on. I started taking it a couple days ago (after debating it for like two years...it's time to try something for some anxiety I just can't shake) and the only side effect I've noticed so far is a ridiculous dry mouth. My doctor had mentioned this as a potential side effect, but I'm wondering if it's one that can improve over time?

On the plus side, I think I'll be better hydrated than ever before because all I do is guzzle water, but it's going to drive me nuts! :)
