@MrsF: oh noooo I am so sorry - poor kiddos and parents. That sounds miserable. I hope you don't get sick, and I recover quickly!!

@MrsF: That GI bug is no fun! We had it around here right before Thanksgiving. I had to resort to leaving M in just a diaper because he'd puke overtime I'd put clean clothes on him. Hope everyone feels better soon!
@josina: M used to wake up fussing/crying when he slept in his PnP next to our bed, but since we put him in his own room, he wakes up happy now.

@MrsF: Oh, that sounds awful. I hope tonight goes better and its a quick bug!

Thanks for the healthy thoughts ladies I'm wary of jinxing us but all signs point to tonight being much better than last night.
@AngelicOne: Ugh - always puking on the clean clothes

@winniebee: Weaning is hard, no matter when it happens. You've done an amazing job nursing this long!!

Our nursing journey is officially over. Although he went on his nursing strike over a month ago and hasn't nursed since, today is the day I finally stop trying. No more offering and I'll be weaning from the pump.

@FaithFertility: aww - sleepy girl
When we switched to one nap for M I had to work really hard to keep her awake for the first couple of weeks. I'm assuming it will be the same with J. We'll see!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MrsF: yeah I can see that
She put her head down on the carpet and was rubbing her eyes
We just left a birthday party so she skipped afternoon nap and of course passed out in car!

@AngelicOne: Thanks! I'm glad we were able to make it to a year before this strike happened.

So, Ryan is just a crazy toddler. My first was high energy but had some sense about him. Ryan just gets into everything. Everything! Toilet paper, toilet bowls, stairs, doors, cords, any open cabinets, dinners out throwing plates off the table, tearing down lamps. Tries walking down stairs. Tries getting down from high places on his own. Omg it's exhausting. And when he sleeps through its 730-530. Soooo relaxing for me. He is also throwing wicket tantrums over things he wants but can't have (a soda, an iPhone, whatever). He used to be so chill, what happened?' He's lucky he's cute!!!

@winniebee: trying to be a big boy! Sounds exhausting!
We have tantrums more and more these days, mainly if she can't get to something or if she wants to go outside...which is every 5 mins.....we have to hide our shoes or she demands them on so we can go..:meh:
honeydew / 7283 posts
@winniebee: Oh man it's exhausting! And SO much harder to keep up with them when there's an older one around too
@FaithFertility: Yes on the tantrums if there is something that J can see but isn't allowed to have. Which is difficult because there are things that big sister is allowed to have / do that he can't. Cue the tears and screaming

@MrsF: Aww well I dont have a 2nd LO, but I did have to tell DH how he can't sit there and eat cookies anymore in front of her

@Adira: Props for bf'ing both your boys for so long and for pumping as long as you did in case he was just on strike!
@winniebee: Sounds like Ethan, into everything that hes not supposed to be!
@FaithFertility: Ethan wants to go 'down'stairs all the time and gets mad when we don't.
@MrsF: aww, must be tough watching big sis do things he can't!

@Adira: Hugs
@MrsF: Glad to know everyone's doing better! I hope there's some way to catch up on some sleep! I can't imagine how tiring that is.
@FaithFertility: On the weekends it's so much easier for us to do 1 nap b/c I can "force" her down early so her 2nd nap won't end too late. It's when she's at daycare that she doesn't nap till 11am and then again at like 3pm that kills us. Yesterday she fought her 1st nap and slept from 12-1 (short nap because we were at church). But then b/c of the diaper rash too probably, she eventually fell asleep again from 3:30-4:30 again. Bleh. But her late bed time ended up being good since we spent forever trying to figure out what to do about her rash, what kinda bath to give her, etc. Haha!
@winniebee: We def have a very demanding and opinionated girl over here too!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
Thanks for everyone offering support on FB about K's diaper rash! Short version is that I believe diarrhea and eating a lot of tomatoes (which prob made poop all the more acidic) gave her a horrendous diaper rash on Sat. Good news is that we finally got it contained and it shrunk a lot so hopefully repeating what we've been doing will heal the rest of it! The MOTN diaper changes were no fun; but we were so motivated to do it to help her feel better. I was just so sad looking at the raw red bum and wishing I could take it away from her

@snowjewelz: so glad it is clearing up!
I tried his weekend to push a 1 nap schedule but yesterday at 10 she was putting her head down on rug and rubbing eyes and well we have a lunch to go to today at 12 so I put her down at 10 again no issue so she will be up from about 11-2 for lunch
Gahhhh naps always about naps.......lol
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: I know! I think I just gave up about it, haha. We kinda got used to the later bed time, and that's only 3 days a week anyway where she's at daycare. I decided that as long as she wants the 2 naps, then fine, 2 naps she will get, lol.

@winniebee: I'm glad h isn't the only crazy one climbing is his favorite thing, although I'm a little less nervous now that he seems to have mastered getting down off the bed/couch/etc on his own. Still makes me nervous though! Particularly with how sleep-deprived I am, I worry that I wouldn't have the best reaction time. Oh well. He also loooves pulling out lamp/laptop/whatever plugs. Crazy kids!

@Adira: nice job nursing for as long as you did!! Although I am sorry it ended sooner than you were hoping.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@snowjewelz: we have diahhrea and diaper rash after Ryan ate 3 clementines as well as an enormous bowl of fruit (out to breakfast keeping him happy!). No fruit or acidic food for a few days here.

@snowjewelz: awwww poor girl!! Ouch, that stinks. I'm glad it's doing a little better. Hopefully the rest heals quickly!!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: K eats oranges regularly, but I think tomatoes really did her in b/c the rash literally started with her poop after lunch where she probably had a dozen cherry tomatoes!

@winniebee: micah is exactly like that! getting into everything and throwing tantrums. he has this high pitched scream when he wants something he can't have or if i'm not moving fast enough to get him what he wants. i never knew a little voice could be so loud!
@theotherstark: same with the climbing. he looooves climbing on everthing. the other day he was standing on one of his ride on toys. makes me so nervous!
@Adira: i'm sorry that nursing has ended sooner than you'd like but you did such a good job nursing him for so long!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@theotherstark: @whenoceansrise: Speaking of climbing, DH was watching E Sunday morning and he pushed his ride-on train over to our kitchen table and bench; used it to climb onto the bench, then the table, and was playing on top of the table with the salt and pepper shakers sneezing. Salt EVERYWHERE. SMH.
