Our daycare just texted and said Finn is running a temp of 101.7, but is happy, playing, and has no other symptoms. So weird! Has your LO ever done that? If so, what did it turn out to be?

@Mrs. Blue: twice. The first time it was a UTI (but her fever was 105!!) and the second time it was roseola.
I hope finn is okay!!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: I was wandering about some kind of infection. Hadn't thought about roseola.

@Mrs. Blue: because of the uti, I did take Chloe in to see the ped when she had another high fever. I blogged about it but don't recall her temp at the top of my head. If she hadn't had a precious uti I would have waited a few days before taking in her!

@Mrs. Blue: Yes, I thought it was maybe teeth, but then it turned out to be the stomach flu. She threw up the next morning (and the rest of the day).

She had a fever but was acting semi normal, just tired. Turns out it was just a virus.

yes, it was roseola, but the fever was really high...103-104 during the day, 105+ at night.

We had this last week. It turned out to be roseola! We didn't now until the fever broke and he got the rash. Mhis fever was around 100-102 for the week.

This past weekend he came down with a fever and seemed very tired. After giving him Tylenol, he was playing like normal but then when the medicine wore off 4 hours later, he was clingy and cranky again. This kept going on for 24 hours and then it was weird, he was completely back to normal after he woke up from a nap. Guess it was just some virus? He gets similar symptoms when he's teething, but never has had a fever that high (it was 103 at the highest and then down to 100 with Tylenol).

Roseola! He shot up to almost 105 for 3 days straight but was acting totally fine! We went in to get a urine sample to test for a uti, but the next day he broke out into the rash so we knew.

It's happened a couple of times, but she's usually a little lethargic, too. Hope he gets over it quickly!

Yep, when they got HFM disease the fever was the only symptom at first. We just finished four days of fever and in turned out to be a sinus infection. But they had runny noses also.

We're at 103 while on ibuprofen now. I think DH is going to take him to the doctor to make sure it's not some infection that is just not manifesting.
@mrs. wagon: @Beyond2: @SleepyMonkey: @Mrs. Jump Rope: With roseola, how long did your LOs have the fever before other symptoms?
@sunshineandsushi: I seriously don't think I can survive another round of HFM, so it better not be that!

@Mrs. Blue: Fingers crossed! Our round of HFM was not anything compared to yours. I didn't even know it was HFM until the fever was gone, that's when the bumps first appeared and only on their hands and bums then. I remember also last summer that one of them got a fever when he had an ear infection. The fever was the only symptom that popped up (besides crappy nighttime sleep).

@Mrs. Blue: 3-4 days! With HFM both kids were MISERABLE with the fever. We had mild cases, too. Only a few bumps on hands and feet with LMW and no bumps at all on WJ (maybe sores in their mouths, couldn't see them, but neither were eating well).
103 while on ibuprofen is so high

@Mrs. Blue: 4 days of fever followed by the rash on his chest and back the 4th night. No other symptoms at all though. I originally blamed it on just teething.

@Mrs. Blue: she woke up with a fever on weds morning and broke by Saturday around noon and that is when the rash showed up on her torso. The next day the rash was on her face and the day after it was completely gone.

@Mrs. Blue: ugh! I'm glad you found the culprit, though.
