First of all, holy crap how is my LO a year old already?!?!
OK now that i got that off my chest, it's time to write some thank you notes. SO, from whose perspective do i write them? I feel like writing them as if they are from LO is a little cheesy, but writing them from my perspective seems, i don't know, formal? I was leaning towards writing them from my perspective but just wondering what you guys do!

Just write them from yourself. I eyeroll hard when they're from a 1 year old who really has no clue what's up

My kids cards are always from them - so their perspective.
The only time I did from me was for baby shower stuff.

@blackbird: haha this is what i was thinking! like in my head, i was having a hard time putting something together that didn't make me want to roll my eyes. but i'm not sure how other people feel about it, i may just not be cutesy enough to appreciate it

I ordered photo cards from Shutterfly and wrote something like, "Thank you for making J's 3rd birthday extra special!" and then let him write & color all over the inside

Well I'm an elementary teacher so I guess I think that kind of thing is cute. I think I wrote them from mine when it was to adults, and from his when it was to kids.

@Pirouette: I like @rachiecakes's idea and letting him color the inside! I ordered personalized thank you cards, too, with a picture from E's birthday cake smash on the front. Photo cards are fun for a first bday

Write them your perslective. There's nothing wrong with "thank you for celebrating LO's birthday. He is really enjoying the specific gift. Hope to see you (all) soon."

I did both. I actually always loved when my SIL would write the thank you cards from my nieces'/nephew's perspective b/c she would be hilarious and write things that a 1 yr old would obviously never say. So for those who I knew shared my sense of humor, they were from DS. Otherwise, it was from me.

I plan on doing a her perspective thing -
"Thanks so much for the clothes - they will look awesome covered in my favorite foods! The wrapping paper was stellar too!"
"Thanks so much for the toy - I love banging on it and tossing it across the room at the dog!"

I did it like they were from LO ... about half the people thought it was cute and half the people thought it was silly. I think it depends what you want to because I think there is a pretty even split on both ways.
Personally I think it's cute so that's why I did it that way.

I did from LOs perspective and had fun with them! It was like Honest Toddler style - I can't wait to leave it on the floor so mommy will trip on it type thing. I also had her color on the inside so it seemed more like I was translating for her.
