Googling all things 'natural induction' .. read that accupressure points are natural, safe and proven. The only precaution is to wait until you are fullterm!(today is my due date)
Anyone tried it? Did it work for you?

I'm debating acupuncture and acupressure- which is better? Acupuncture helped to get me pregnant- so I trust in it, but I hear so much about acupressure!

@princessbaby we did acupressure because I was so desperate and I thought nothing would work! I took my 40 week pic, ate dinner, DH did acupressure and BAM had a baby! There is nowhere around here to get acupuncture done, and thanks to go ole YouTube we did acupressure on the couch!

Heck yeah! It's safe, easy, and it works!
Don't expect it to be a magic potion - if your body or baby isn't ready, it won't work. But if your baby is ready and just needs that final push - works like a charm.

I did reflexology--and my water broke the next day! Not sure if it was coincidence. But I say try it, it can't hurt!

My doula did a ton of accupressure on me when my labour was stalling and it helped. Find those sweet spots and get things going!!! Come on babydubs!!!

I have gone to four sessions in the last week and a half for acupuncture, and each time she leaves in little beads at all the acupressure points for me to use. I guess it truly doesn't work until baby is ready, because nothing yet!

I went to 3 sessions and it didn't work for me. I ended up having to be induced but I do feel that it helped that induction. I went from 3cm to 10 in 4 hours!

I read that you have to had 3 sessions for it to "work" somewhere...I'm thinking about getting acupuncture once i hit week 39.

@mrsjyw: @Mrs. Tricycle: omg I cannot believe you guys are both soooo CLOSE!!!!
I did EVERYTHING to try and induce labor with LMW but alas, nothing worked... and I was 2.5 cm dilated for 2 weeks!! gahhh. If I had the guts I definitely would have tried acupuncture!

@matador84: Does it have to be done for an hour? I'm wondering if I can get DH to do it for that long!
I am going to try acupressure at some point this week - we'll start with DH doing it and see how that goes.
I LOVE acupuncture and was seeing a fertility acupuncturist when I got pregnant- he actually used Electro-Acupuncture to wake my ovaries up that month, as they were hibernating or something.
I thought about going back to him for Operation Get Harper Out, but he's $115 a session and I just don't want to pay that when I know that worst-case scenario, I have an induction scheduled at 39&2 on Dec 2nd. I know I sound like a spoiled brat that I want her to come before that, I should be grateful that I have an end date and that it's several days before 40 weeks. But I still want her to come on her own!

@princess baby probably not it just felt good and I told him to keep doing it until I told him to stop! Ha!

@kml636: I went today for treatment #1 -- we'll see if it works. She put beads in my ears in the "uterus" spots, and I'm supposed to rub them when I remember. So far, nothing, but it was interesting how active the baby was during the acupuncture session, even though it's normally pretty chill.
