Hi all -
My 3.5yo has always had allergies/congestion, but this winter it has been especially bad (we are in Florida, and this is our "allergy season"). He has been congested/sick since October, even after 2 courses of antibiotics. We had him on Claritin for a long time but it did nothing. He has dark circles under his eyes (allergy shiners).

He seems very tired a lot of the time and is extremely irritable - like constant tantrums and screaming, even though he's sleeping at night and he has an early bedtime. He snores a lot. I am thinking maybe he wakes up several times through the night due to his congestion/allergies and that is making him tired and irritable.

We were back at the pediatrician again on Saturday, and she prescribed Singulair for him. She feels like it might make a difference. She said it may shrink his adenoids and help the congestion. We have tried Flonase, but I can't get it in his nose (have to pin him down to do it, he screams and fights, it is basically impossible).

I am wondering if we should be seeing a pediatric ENT for a consult at this point? Has anyone done that and if so, what did they try?

I feel so bad for him because he's been kind of miserable for months, and I am getting seriously depressed/having a hard time coping due to his behavior.
