People are always going to have things to say so as long as you are happy with the timing of the pregancy I would just ignore any comments. My husband and I got pregant within a month of getting married, but that doesnt bother us at all.

Surprisingly, the comments have not been that awkward! We have been married for 2 years and together for 10 and my friends have pretty much all had babies in the past year. So, I feel like people are/were expecting it.

Though yesterday a friend asked "were you trying for awhile?" To which I responded, yes, and had a miscarriage back in May so we are really ready. I figured honesty is good in the face of a sorta rude question.

A friend asked me if I was happy. I had just miscarried and I was preggo again,and he knew how hard it all was for me. And then he had the nerve to very seriously ask me if I was happy. And in a "really? Why would you be happy about that? " tone.

We are at different stages in life, he would not be happy to become a dad. But he should still try to understand my point of view!

@winniebee: We're TTC and married about the same time you were. I think that the two years gives it a bit of a buffer from those "already, fast" comments.

I will say that I'm surprised when some couples get pregnant right after getting married. For me, it seems fast because I couldn't envision trying and being pregnant until a couple years into our marriage. I also just hope that those couples that get pregnant right away have a solid relationship to handle the stress of babies, etc. It seems like a lot to take right after a big event of a wedding and adjusting to married life.

I say this as I was with my husband for 5 years on the day we married. As of last month, we've been together 7 years and married two of them. We're just a little slower on the life plan changes than some. Add to the trying right now, three cycles down and not our time yet to be pregnant.

Comments like these will be good news... it will mean you are pregnant!!

I never got any comments, except one, now that I think of it, from the guy at the pizza counter at our work cafeteria. He took one look at my belly and asked "what happened there?"

I attribute it to the fact that English wasn't his first language, lol.

@mediagirl: I think I did laugh. Then he gave me an extra helping of whatever he was serving that day.

I wouldn't worry about what others say =) Stick to what you and your hubby have planned and make it a joke between you two when people say off the wall comments!
