Lil' CB had the same reaction...on day 9/10 of his amoxicillin about a year ago. The reaction got worse before it got better, but I want to say it was gone within 3 days or so? i'm so sorry your LO is having such a hard time!

Same here, the rash cleared up pretty quickly. I think by two days it was pretty much gone.

My little sister has an allergy to Amoxicillin and her rash cleared up pretty quickly, I want to say within days. No more than a week. Did they give Benadryl?

Yup, on day 9 of 10. It was gone in two days.

@Corduroy: I am allergic to penicillin and ammoxicillan. So is everyone in my family. Literally.

My sister, brother and I get hives. My mom & I have throat swelling.

I've had to go to the ER for it! I was young so I don't remember what exactly happened or how long it took to improve. My sister & brother gets hives for a day or two, though.

It's scary! I'm afraid for if/when Chloe would ever need it. I hope your LO is ok ASAP!

I had it as a child and I remember I was taken to the hospital. I had a bad rash (I remember I could see it on my own skin when I looked down), but I can't remember if I had any other symptoms.

I think I grew out of it though. I avoided amoxicillin all of my childhood. But when I was an adult, I'm pretty sure I was prescribed it, took it and had no negative effects.

I got hives using penicillin as a child and have avoided it since. There have always been alternatives. I also had a reaction to Ceclor(cefaclor), so keep that in mind if they try to give you something else.

My 13 year old has an allergic reaction when he was 6, after many many rounds too. It was scary, and we've avoided it altogether.
