I've been interested in them for a long time and might actually pull the trigger at some point! They seem kind of thin and not plushy enough. If you have them, how do they wash? Do you like them? Anything I should know?

We had them in our old apartment in the office area. They were not soft (but that could have been the style we chose) but they never moved out of place, even with a rolling chair over them.

My son's preschool has these in the circle time area, and I would describe them as "industrial." They're very sturdy but they're not cushy at all.

We have them in our living room, for 3.5 years. They're definitely not plush or very soft. They do have plushier ones, from what I've seen in their catalog, but I can't speak for them. I wish ours were softer, but we don't lay on the carpet anyway so I guess it's not a big deal. They clean pretty well.

I really liked them, at first, but wouldn't get them again. We have them in a corner of our living room that combines my desk and lo1's play kitchen and art table, and used to have another set as well. But, we moved apartments and it was a giant pain in the butt to re-set up, and we got rid of one after awhile in favor of a traditional rug. The one we still have is fine for now but won't last another move. Also, it's a little rough--like, I have dry skin on my feet that get snagged on the fibers every once in awhile and oww! Also, depending on the color, it's not so easy to swap tiles out when they get stained like we thought--we had a yellow one that faded or something, so the brand new tiles just stood out a lot.

we made an area rug out of them when we couldn't find a rug we loved. Between the sofas and coffee table, there isn't much rug space to spend time one -- so we don't mind that its not plush (we chose a not plush style...we could have gotten thicker ones). We love the look, and in theory love that we can wash them -- we haven't had to do that yet.
I wouldn't carpet a whole room in it, but I love it for our purpose
